"Hey Darby, could you come into work today? Josie called out sick." my boss tried to explain. I groaned and rolled my eyes like she could see me.
"Fine, I'll come in." I huffed. I really didn't want to work today. Today was my first day off in almost three months.
"Thank you so much, you're the best." she said before hanging up. I dragged myself out of bed and took a quick shower. I got out of the shower and I wrapped my towel around my hair. I went over to my closet and picked out a tight skirt and a lacey, loose, purple blouse. I put on some black eyeliner and I let my hair hang loose around my lower back.
When I arrived at my office, I saw my boss standing there with a huge stack of papers in her hands. "Here, let me help you." I said. She gladly handed them all to me with a smug grin.
"Good," she said. "I was just going to put these on your desk. I need all of these papers sorted and on my desk within the next two hours. When you are done with that, there are some guys that are here for some pictures." Then she walked away.
I wasn't angry about sorting papers, I actually liked doing it. I was shock because I was never the one who was taking the pictures. I was just in there so I could hand Josie water if she needed it.
You see, I'm an intern. The only celebrity I've ever taken a picture of was Russell Brand, and that because Josie and him didn't get along.
By the time I was done sorting the papers, I had half an hour just to sit and lounge around. I got out my phone and started texting my cousin Ashlin. She works for Seventeen magazine.
Me:"Ughhh, I have work today :(."
Ash:"I have work everyday."
Me:"But I have to take pictures today."
Ash:"You're sad about that because?"
Me:"Because I am not ready."
Ash:"What do you mean 'not ready'?"
Me:"I'm not the one who takes the pictures, Josie is."
Ash:"You should be excited about this. I have to go. Good luck :)."
Me:"Thanks -.-"
Samantha, my boss, came in and told me that the people I was taking the pictures of were here. She lead me to a room where I heard five very familiar British/Irish voices.
"Hi. You must be the camera lady. My name is Liam, and this is Harry, Niall, Louis, and Zayn." Liam said. He shook my hand, then the others came up and did the same.
"Why is your face red?" Harry asked me. I just put my cold hands to my cheeks. I get really nervous around new people, especially attractive ones.
"There's no need to be nervous. We're just normal people." Zayn said. He stepped closer to me and put his hand on the small of my back then started to rub small circles to 'calm me down'. It just made things worse so I stepped away and got out my camera.
"Okay, I um need all of you to, um, take your, um, shirts, er, off." I said in a quiet tone.
"If you wanted to see us naked all you had to do was ask." Louis said with a smirk, which turned my face an even deeper shade of red.
"Lou, leave the poor girl alone." Harry said before elbowing Louis' side. Harry mouthed a 'sorry' then proceeded to remove his shirt. I just stared in awe at the five gorgous boys in front of me.
"Okay now just do whatever, but stay on the set. Just look at me whenever I tell you to." I said with a bit more confidence.
Within the hour, I had taken over two hundred pictures of the boys doing almost nothing. Niall wouldn't look at me, Zayn wouldn't stop looking at me, Harry and Louis were chasing each other and kept leaving the set, and Liam just didn't look happy to be there. I had gotten so frustrated with them that I told them to put their shirts back on and wait until Josie came back. That's when Samantha walked in.
"What do you all think you're doing?" she asked them.
"She told us to put our shirts back on and wait until Josie got back." Niall said.
"Darby, can I speak with you outside please?" she said in a menacing tone.
"Oh no." I thought, "This can't be good."
