Chapter 3: Power

Madison's point of view:

"What information? "I asked. What did she mean when she said that my brother and I are the closest to the Twins? Does Jayden have a connection with Abby or something?

"What I mean is before their mother knew she was pregnant, she did what they call the Fire and Ice Trial. It's where you're given the 'half and half serum' and are tested to see if your body reacted to it. Their mom didn't show any symptoms and was the only one it didn't work on. Three weeks later, she found out she was pregnant with the twins. On her way there to see if the twins had traces of the half and half serum, she died in a car crash."

"She left behind her husband, her twin girls. and me. Their father took them off the grid for many years until three years ago, when they ran away from him. The serum reacted to them but separately."

"Each one of them got a half, Abby got ice and Alexa got fire. As of right now, their bodies are reacting to the serum. There is a process of getting the power of the half and half serum. You must face your greatest fear and use the power of the half and half to overcome it. If you decide that you can't, you'll die... If you face your greatest fear, you'll wake up with the power of the half and half serum. I'm so sorry. Someone should have told them and you sooner. I am so very sorry. I know you must have questions, but they must wait until either they face their fears or they both die. Let me know if anything happens to them. "Ms. Jackson explained and walked out leaving both me in Jayden speechless.

she could die..they both could die..i don't know what i would do if i lost alexa..she is my everything and she doesn't even know it...wait Ms. Jackson said something about greatest fears..Alexa's greatest fear is her father finding her...i don't know if she's ready for that...please alexa be ok you can do this..

"i'm dating abby...i have been for the past year and a half...and in 7 months i plan to propose to her on the day we met..she didn't want to tell you because you might tell alexa but if she dies it won't matter..." jayden confesses to me. "i have a big fat crush on alexa...and i never even gotta tell her...she means so much to me and if she dies i don't know what i'll do" i confessed back..he took my hand and i cried into his shoulder...

Abby's point of view (she is awake but in the mindset of the serum):

it is so cold. I open my eyes and see that I'm lying in a pile of snow. I get up and look around and see nothing but snowfall.

Where is Jayden? Where am I? I look around and see a woman. She looks a lot like Alexa with her light brown eyes and her hair, but I can see my face in her too. She is wearing black jeans and a flowy black top that had a name tag on it "A. Jackson "It read. She also looks similar to Michelle Jackson, could this be my mother?

I walk closer to her, "who are you? "I asked. "I am Alexandria Jackson, sister of Michelle Jackson, wife of David Bush and mother of Alexa and Abigail Jackson" she responded. "In other words, I am your mother "she explained. "You look just like Alexa!" I cried out with tears streaming down my face." Oh, please don't cry dear. You must save your strength for the battle ahead. You are about to live in your worst fear, and you must figure out what that is and save your sister from hers.

When you were kids, she saved you and now you must do the same to complete the bond. Your half of the half and half serum is ice. You must cool the fire of hatred that your sister has for your father. Only then will you be freed from this nightmare "she explained. "I don't understand, "I say. "What do you fear the most? "She questioned.

"My worst fear is that I lose my sister to the horrors of our father" I answer. "Well, welcome to your greatest fear," she says. She then gets up and walks away. "Wait come back, mom!!" I yell out to her; she stops but doesn't turn around. "You can do it. I am with you in your heart. I love you very much. You've got this!" and with that, she fades away. "MOM" i scream out with tears streaming down my cheeks...i have to find alexa so we can get out of here...mom said id face my greatest fear..that mean i have to find alexa now. i call out her name and suddenly all the snow disappears..

Alexa's point of view:

I awake and see someone I thought I would never see again, my 'father" and my whole vision went red all i could think of was what he did to me in the past and i started getting flashback back to when he would hurl insults at me...and blame mothers life on me...she died and i had to suffer because i lived..he always told me that if i tried to run or ask for help he would kill abby and that would be my fault too so i alway kept my mouth shut taking every hit and insult while abby would watch from a safe distance as "father" would tell her too...she never was hit or insulted by him...he never threw things at her and always made her food while i got the straps like a dog..he gave her clean and expensive clothes just to rub it in that she was better that me and that i was below them...i was snapped out of my flashback by the horrid man himself.."hello there lexi"...
