Lance pulled his phone out of his pocket and with shaky fingers he read the name and he swore he could feel the butterflies flutter in his stomach.
"hey, we should talk. i miss you" Nick. God he missed him so much, he quickly typed back
"i'd love to, when?" They made a date to meet at a coffee shop and for the first time in weeks, Lance felt happy? Losing Joey was hard and as shitty as it felt to go running back to Nick, he felt horrible about leaving him in that hotel room. But he was in love with Joey and Joey has given him that ultimatum. And Lance has made the right choice but unfortunately, Joey's and his story had ended tragically. He thought about Nick constantly, even when Joey and him were together, he would rake his hands through Joey's hair absentmindedly and imagine it was Nick's greasy locks instead. Some times he'd dream of Nick and expect to wake up next to him, but he was never there. Maybe he deserved it for what he did, leaving him. He felt horrible thinking of another man while being with another but he couldn't help it, his mind would wander and he'd think of the beautiful moments Nick and him had shared. But now, a second chance, another chance to possibly start again and maybe just maybe, finally get to be with Nick. When Lance got back to his house, he removed his clothes and took a shower, he remembered that hot moment between him and Nick in the shower. God how he yearned for the nectar of his skin. Nick and him talked a bit more over text, just catching up and it felt like they were dancing around what they really wanted to talk about, or what Nick really wanted to get into, Joey. But instead Nick kept it to small talk, not wanting to upset Lance or bring up painful things. Nick thought he would save that for a later time, he had lots of questions and he hoped Lance had the answers. But for now, they were both sure that they wanted each other. Whether this would end badly, again, or finally be something, it was worth it. Nick was worth it. Their love was worth it.
