The oregon trail was in 1843 and there was a danger it was a disease that was called cholera that killed many settlers. Most of the settlers used oxen to pull their wagons. The oxen were slow, But sometimes mules were used as well. It stretched for around 2,000 miles and through six states like, Missouri, Kansas, Nebraskas, Wyoming, Idaho and Oregon.
