There was this young lad whom I found wandering around the park. She was alone; her red-colored dress covered by dirt and mud; her face so pale that my skin would really contrast to hers. Till the moon reaches the peak of the sky she was still there, wandering. I felt pity and finally talked to her that monsters will come and hunt kids who are still playing at night.

“I'm not scared of monsters because they are not real,” she said.

I smiled at her and asked her to come with me.

“So what's your name?” I asked

“I'm nobody special” she replied.

We kept on walking under the moonlight, she seems to be a quiet girl.

“I hate this place it's so crowded by busy people” she finally spoke.

I giggled at her and mumbled that life is not always about cookies and rainbows. By the look on her face, she seems to be agitated.

“Why wouldn't you enjoy life, enjoy it to the fullest because you only live once don't waste your time worshiping unessential things,” she said in a high pitched tone.

“Want a gum?” I asked her and she quickly took and unwrapped it.

“This gum is so sweet it reminds me of honey” she stated while chewing

“This is how life should be, sweet” she continued.

“The longer that gum is in your mouth the sweetness will start to fade till you spit it out. Is that how you want life to be?” I added.

She went quiet and started blowing the gum out her mouth forming a small and pinkish circle.

“Don't blow it too much it will pop and will mess your face” I said. But she didn't listen.

The gum really popped and messed her face but she just giggled. I took my handkerchief and wiped her face.

“It's time for you to go home,” I told her.

“Home?” she asked innocently.

“Yes, a place for you to sleep,” I said.

“Ah you mean a house” she started laughing

“A home is not a place it is a person who you are comfortable with,”  she said.

“And who is the person that you are comfortable with?” I then asked her.

“It's a secret of course” she smirked.

It's almost midnight so I told her to go home. She then thanked me for the gum and walked straight while waving back at me. I just stared at her walking to ensure that she is safe till she's gone from my sight. It's been a while since I talked to little kids because some kids are just so spoiled that I feel the urge to slap the hell out of them but of course I don't resort to violence. But the little girl whom I just talked to was just so special. It feels like I'm talking to someone my age. I think it's not about the age, it's all about the way she thinks. I reached home and went to bed immediately the little girl still on my head.

“Who is she exactly?” I talked to myself knowing that no one would answer me.

I ended my day thinking about the little girl.
