Blood dripped from her temple as she lay motionless on the ground. She felt the earth spin from underneath her as she fell through the darkness in her mind. It was only a few moments ago that everything seemed to have fit in place. Like you find that missing puzzle piece and it just fits perfectly and everything connects seamlessly. Like life was actually working out the way it was supposed to be. Then, again, that was life, right? Makes you believe that you have everything under control one minute and then the next it is a complete mess. This right here. This was a big mess. This, she definitely did not see coming. After everything that had happened this year you'd think things would end on a good note. Right?

Wrong.

Once again it was her fault. Like it always was. She should have seen this coming. How could she have possibly thought that they could all be happy for one moment? Her father was right when he said, 'trouble always finds you'. Oh, how right he was.

Looking back on it now, she thinks, maybe, if she had done things differently then maybe they wouldn't have been where they were now. Lying, bloody and bleeding. Guess, that's a big 'what if' and like her mother used to say, 'time never stops for anyone'.
