It was a quiet afternoon in South Carolina; the birds were chirping amongst themselves, the sun was turning the slightly cloudy sky into a fiasco of different shades of red and orange. Though the peace and quiet didn't last very long as two five year olds ran up a lucious green hill; both were screaming with joy as a black haired five year old boy chased a brown-blond haired five year old girl up the hill and playfully tackled her once they reached the top.
The girl squealed when he tackled her before giggling and lay on her belly with the boy lying on her back as they lay on the soft grass. Both settled down and sighed in content as they both relaxed on the cool grass. The boy rolled off of the girl and flopped on his back, turning his head to face his best friend with a grin. She smiled back at him and sighed softly
Both have been the best of friends since they were born; the girl's mother and the boy's mother gave birth in the same room but at different times, so the children have been the best of friends since then.
"Fury! Odette! Time to come in for dinner!" their mothers called.
Both pouted before Odette grinned, "Race you down the hill!" she crowed and began running.
"No fair!" Fury called and ran after her.
Odette made it to the bottom and ran to her mom, Fiona, with a squeal while Fury fought to catch up. He made it and panted heavily, putting his hands on his knees to catch his breath.
"I win, slowpoke!" Odette crowed happily.
"You-You got a headstart, so no fair!" Fury panted, gasping out the words.
Odette only beamed as a strawberry-blond haired woman came out of the blue house both kids stopped at and gave Fury some water with ice cubes.
"Thank...you..Mrs. Lemonlight" Fury gasped, taking the glass with his small hands and gulped down the water.
Odette watched him gulp down the cool water, tilting her head lightly as a red head with black accents walked up to the two five year olds and Odette's mother.
"Was Fury behaving, Fiona?" the woman asked with a soft smile.
"Yes, he behaved like the good boy he is, Rachel" Fiona chuckled.
Rachel smiled and ruffled her son's black hair, smiling even more when Fury whined and swatted at her hands. Odette giggled softly as her blue tinted green eyes practically sparkled with mischief.
"Well, we have to go and finish packing" Rachel sighed.
"That's right, you're moving to Ireland tomorrow" Fiona softened.
"Fury and I won't see each other anymore?" Odette whimpered.
Fury's gunmetal blue eyes widened as he turned to his friend in worry. "I'm afraid so, honey" Rachel sighed.
"B-but we made a promise to be together forever as friends!" Odette cried, bursting into tears as she couldn't bear the thought of her and Fury being separated.
Fury hugged her as he held back his own tears. He gripped her yellow shirt tightly from the back as she gripped his red shirt tightly while she wailed loudly. Rachel and Fiona exchanged worried glances as they watched the two hold another in distress.
"You two want to spend the night together?" Fiona asked.
Both looked up and nodded with tear-filled eyes. "Then go on inside" Fiona smiled.
They slightly perked, hugged their mothers and went inside the house; both holding hands. Rachel thanked Fiona and went next-door to a soft foam green house. Fiona watched her leave and went inside, smiling as the two ran around the living room and stifled a laugh when they bumped into one another and fell on their rumps.
"Alright, alright, wash up for dinner; we're having spaghetti and meatballs" Fiona said gently.
Both Odette and Fury scrambled up and went to the bathroom to wash their hands as Fiona set the table. Odette hopped on the stepping stool and squirted liquid soap in her and Fury's hands.
"Can I go on, please?" Fury asked.
Odette shuffled a bit to the side and smiled softly when he hoped up next to her and began washing his hands.

After dinner, both were tired and were carried up to Odette's room, Fiona carrying Odette and Lester, Odette's father, carried Fury. Both parents set the two on the small twinset bed. They set them down together, took off their shoes and tucked them in gently; smiling softly they huddled close to one another, Fury holding Odette in his arms as they slept. Fiona kissed both their heads and then left the room with her husband, closing the door quietly.

Around midnight, Rachel knocked on the front door: Fiona hummed awake and climbed out of her bed, walking out of the room with a yawn. She began to unlock the door and opened it.
"Sorry to wake you this early, Fiona" Rachel apologized quietly.
"Oh no it's fine; I assume you need to get Fury?" Fiona yawned.
"Yes, thank you" Rachel hummed, walking in and followed her friend to Odette's room.
Fiona quietly opened the creme colored door and softened as she watched Fury hold Odette closer to him as they slept. Rachel quietly walked over and slowly slipped her arms around her son's body, wincing as he whimpered loudly in protest and held Odette tighter.
"Fury, be quiet. Don't wake Odette up" Rachel whispered.
Fury whined even louder, his eyes flying open as he became fully awake and wrapped his arms and legs around Odette's body; his tight grip startling her and causing the little girl to cling to her friend which made the situation worse. Rachel groaned and tried to pry them apart but the two friends continued to cling to one another; finally prying her son off of Odette, she held his arms and legs tightly to prevent him from kicking her.
"NO!! MAMA, LEMME GO!!! I WANNA STAY HERE!!!" He screamed, wailing.
Rachel only gripped him tighter. Odette began crying in both fear and distress as she watched her friend struggle against his mother. Fiona picked up her daughter and put her near Fury, who began to calm down as he held her hand.
"Let them stay together until you arrive to the car" she said, green eyes tired.
"Alright, come on" Rachel rasped, holding Fury close and kissed his head.
Fiona followed them as she carried a whimpering Odette in her arms while Fury reached for her with a whine. They arrived at the packed mini-van and set Fury in his seat next to his twin sister, Shayna, buckling him up firmly as he began to throw another tantrum. Fiona quickly let Odette hug Fury good-bye for the last time to calm him down; Rachel sneaking a sedative in Fury's and Odette's arms gently.
"That won't hurt them right?" Fiona asked worriedly.
"No, it'll just calm them down and make them sleep" Rachel sighed and kissed her son's head.
Fiona nodded and held Odette close to her body as she hugged Rachel good-bye and waved to Shayna who waved back with a yawn.
"Drive safely and have a safe flight!" Fiona called as she watched Rachel drive off to the Airport.
Fiona sighed sadly and went back insider her home, closing and locking the door behind her. She shifted her daughter in her arms as she walked to the master bedroom and gently lay in in the middle of the bed.
"Goodnight, my dear" She sighed, kissing her forehead gently; settling next to her while her husband pulled both of his two favorite women close.
On the plane, Rachel thumbed her children's cheeks and held them close on the plane. "I love you both so much...we'll be ok in our new home; you'll see...you'll see...
