When eyes meet

It was just like any other day I was just a freshman in college going to class when my best friend Jamie walked up to me all excited like

Jamie : "OMG gurl you'll never guess what happened to me ok remember last night when I met that one guy what was his name ...... MASON !"

Shellby: "yeah what about him"

Jamie :  "well he took me to his place and  things got a little freaky" *giggles*

Shellby: "ok Jamie I love you your my best friend but I really don't feel like hearing about your one night stands ok"

Jamie: "your not still hung up on mark are you ?"

Mark was my ex husband ... well now ex husband are divorce was being finalized today and I was kinda in a bad and depressed mood

Shellby: "yeah I am Jamie"

Jamie : "hon your finally free of that bastard you should be happy ! "

Shellby: "well I'm not ... I love him"

Jamie : "the guy cheated on you with his brothers wife what more does he have to do for you to hate him"

Shellby: "i don't know I guess I do a little but I don't know I thought this time was different"

Jamie : "Babe guys are only good for one thing ... SEX"

Shellby: "why am I friends with you"

Jamie : "cause you love me .. look I gotta run got math class with the biggest bitch as the teacher"

Shellby: " you know you two would get along if you didn't constantly fall asleep in her class"

Jamie: " and if she taught something a little bit more interesting I wouldn't fall asleep anyway TOODLES"

Jamie started running into the school doors and me well I had history class we were learning about the revolutionary war and I just wasn't in the mood I walked into the school up the stairs down the left hallway all the way down to the end and sat in my desk I pulled out my books and opened them up for note taking.

The teacher walked in and announced that he had someone here to talk to us about joining the army I guess he was just enlisting and wanted to share the experience.

He walked in and started talking I don't even remember what he was saying because I was spaced out thinking and doodling in my notebooks I glanced up and looked at him for a second he looked at me the same time I did a double take and when I looked at him I smiled for the first time in months.

He looked at me and grinned so big.he had longish hair tied back with an army uniform on on the right said U.S ARMY and on the left said MARTIN. he had these blue eyes that made me melt inside and his smile oh his smile made me want to squeal. we just stared at each other for the rest of his speech.

I couldn't tell you how long the speech was cause time just seem to stop altogether.

Then the bell rang which meant it was time to go to the next class, but I didn't want to leave I wanted to gaze into those eyes for as long as I could get to.

Everyone started to leave so I got up gathered my stuff and as soon as I cross the doorway into the hall I heard

" hey wait"

I turned back around and here comes the soldier walking up to me.

Benjamin: " hey um sorry to stop you but I just couldn't help but notice you staring at me"

Shellby: " well you were staring at me"

Benjamin: " yeah well when I see something beautiful I can't help but stare"

Shellby: *chuckles* "your quite handsome yourself"

Benjamin: " I'm Benjamin Martin"

Shellby: " Shellby Russell"

Benjamin: " I know this is kinda sudden and strange but would you be willing to have dinner with me sometime"

Shellby: " actually I don't think that's a good idea you see my divorce was just finalized today"

Benjamin: " oh I'm sorry to hear"

As soon as I said that his smile faded but I really did like him so I gave him a rebound.

Shellby: " but I tell you what I'll give you a rebound"

Benjamin: " rebound ?"

Shellby: " yeah I'll give you my number and you give me yours and if I'm ever up for the challenge I'll give you a call"

Benjamin: *smiles and chuckles* "Sounds good"

He gave me his number and I gave mine to him I turned around and stared to walk to my next class I get halfway down the hallway when I hear

Benjamin:" goodbye Beautiful"

I turned around and said

Shellby : " goodbye handsome"

And walked away.
