On The Move

By the time he had made it down the stairs and out the door, he was already tired. Not knowing about the stairs and not being able to see in the dark had been enough to scare him, and he was already underfed and sore. He suddenly wished he had eaten more of the food that had been offered to him, but he didn't complain about that either. There was no point in complaining about any of it. The immediate disappointment that was written all over Ashiya's face made him feel bad, but it was true. In order for them to leave safely, Ashiya didn't need to know his name. It would only put him in more danger if he did know it. They would both be ok though, and he knew it. Ashiya would just have to deal with it until they made it out of the city and to safety.
He nodded his head in agreement with the male. Once they were safe, he would tell the other his name, but not until then. He wouldn't have been thrilled with not knowing either but he was sure that Ashiya knew that it was for the best. His gaze shifted from Ashiya to their surroundings and his breath caught. The buildings around them were silent and bathed in moonlight and it was a beautiful sight, especially compared to cell walls and the king's room. It wasn't until Ashiya moved that he snapped out of it and moved to follow the male. Ashiya seemed to know where they were going and that was comforting to him. He followed Ashia as closely as he could, and tried to stay to the shadows, but he didn't blend in quite like Ashiya did.

The first time Ashiya pulled him into an alley surprised him and he made a strange noise at the sudden movement before clapping a hand over his own mouth to quiet himself. After the first time though, he stayed quiet and let Ashiya lead the way and pull him aside as needed. Once they seemed to reach where it was that they were going, he stopped and knelt on the ground to catch his breath. He hated walking, he decided. But he had a lot more of it to do. He looked up at Ashiya once he caught his breath. He knew that they needed rope, but the trick was getting in without it. If the person guarding the door didn't like slaves, then taking one in that wasn't restrained could lead to issues. He looked around but there was nothing to use. He had heard somewhere that slaves weren't allowed to be unchained or unbound while out. That it was only ok inside the owner's house if they chose that. And Ashiya didn't have anything to bind him with.

"I am alright." He looked to Ashiya before looking around them before grabbing the hem of his cloak and tearing a strip off the bottom of it and holding it out to Ashiya. "I do not know much about being taken out into town as a slave, but I do remember the person that brought me here telling me that slaves were not allowed to be loose when outside their master's house. It is not a rope or shackles, but it is something. If someone asks, tell them that your rope broke or that I broke it and that you have to get a new one. I have enough bruises to make it seem like I could have broken it and that you have already punished me for it. I just do not want to get you in trouble or make things harder than they have to be."

For all he knew, the person that had brought him could have been lying, but he didn't want to take any chances. So the strip of cloth was held out to Ashiya and then his wrists were held out together. "Tie it tightly. They will know something is wrong if you do not. I will be ok." He remained oddly calm for the situation that they were in. He never thought that he would willingly let someone tie his hands, but here he was, and he was encouraging it. He could tell that Ashiya wasn't very comfortable with it though and he was quiet for a moment. "Do not worry. There is nothing that you can do to me that would be worse than what the king has already done to me. I will be ok, I promise. I can see that you do not like this. I do not either, but it is the way it must be. Once we are away from here, we will not have to pretend. It is just easier this way for now." Clear, calm emerald orbs gazed at Ashiya. He already knew that the rope that Asiya would have to get would not be comfortable but he would bear with it. It was only for a short time.
