Walking down the hall, I kept my head down and pretended I couldn’t hear the whispers and feel the stares. With my boyfriend by my side, my hand in his, I felt better but it still felt extremely awkward. But then something caught my attention, looking up at a guy staring at me but it wasn’t a judging stare, it was a knowing one. He had dark brown, short hair and purple eyes that pierced into me. He was a bit taller than me, wearing a long black trench coat; he smiled at me, and turned to his friends who were all checking me out. My boyfriend, Austin, must have known that I had noticed and tightened his grip on my hand, and glared at them. My stomach clenched when I saw them return the same look back to him, until we were passed them, then Austin turned to look at me and smiled like none of that had just happened.

“Who were they?” I asked, curiously.

“Nobody important, just some nobs… Do me a favour? When I’m not around, stay away from them for me?” He asked me, looking quite concerned. Looking at him, I nodded and put my head back down. Austin’s hand left mine, and slid around my waist, pulling me closer. How long was this fucking corridor? Suddenly we took a sharp right, and the scenery changed dramatically, and the room we were in looked and felt a lot more warming. Austin stopped and I looked at him. He smiled at me, which instantly calmed my nerves.

Although Austin had a bad temper, and would snap for the littlest of reasons or no reason at all; I loved him all the same, but I don’t say anything… I mean he has to put up with me so I could do the same right?

A loud knock pulled me out of my thoughts, and I looked back up at Austin. He had long dark brown hair with green and brown eyes that always looked tired, his lips were thin but soft, and he played bass amazingly. He was funny and sweet and he had the best body in the world, standing at around 6 ft.

The dark brown mahogany door opened from the other side and I looked at the man in front of me, suddenly Austin’s arm left my waist and I was on my own.

“Come in, Miss. Andrew…” his voice was deep and scary. He was about 6 ft. 9, he had blonde hair with bits of grey, and his eyes were a magnifying blue, with dark bags beneath, and face was covered in both wrinkles and a grey beard. “My name is Mr Bunton, and I am the principle at this School.” He told me.

“Can I ask why I am here? I’ve never heard of this school, until Austin told me and even then I didn’t apply, I was happy in my old school…” I asked nervously. Being taken out of my old school had been hard, especially half way through the term, and I had to leave all my friends back there.

“You might not know of us but we certainly know of you… This school specialises in cases like your own. I know this may be hard to take in, but this school is for young adults, like yourself, with special… erm… abilities.” He told me struggling to find the right words, and what did he mean by cases like mine, I don’t have any of these so called ‘abilities’. Suddenly I stiffened under his stare, and thought about my secret, something I hadn’t told anyone, ever. Not even Austin or my friends back in school…

Every now and then I would do little stunts, back hand springs, lighting candles from the other side of the room, filling my glass up with water just by thinking about it, and bringing flowers back to life just by touching them. But how would he know that, no one knows that… I had to leave, now!

“I’m sorry, I have to lea-” I started.

“Sit down!” he boomed at me. Making me sit back down instantly… “You’re room is waiting for you, I will have Damon take you there.” Putting his head down, he shut up and stopped talking to me. Suddenly, the door opened and that guy form the corridor was there, with the purple eyes, stood before me.

“Damon, do yourself a favour and do something good. Miss Andrew here needs taking to her dorm room. Its room number 73, please escort her there. Thank you.” He finished.
