Sat on my double bed, in my dorm room, of the school I didn’t want to enrol in, I looked at Austin. He was admiring my art work on my wall, but he was so quiet, I was holding my breath. Turning around, he looked at me and smiled.
“It’s awesome Payson...” He said with a smile and a little laugh afterwards.
I smiled and thanked him, then looked out the window, the rain was coming down in buckets, but the sun shone, and it was also snowing… what in God’s name is going on with the weather? Austin saw me looking out the window in confusion.
“We have a few people here who can control all these things and like to mess around with the weather. You know those days when the weather can’t make its mind up? Well the elementists stick together depending on what they control. Those who like to control things like light, and water and ice and air, like to change things, using the ice and water to make snowflakes, using the air to send them into the sky and the sun just to annoy people. Obviously there is the original weather in there too.” He explained quite fast, so it was hard for me to understand but I smiled and nodded anyway; somehow managing to catch it all. Austin came and sat beside me on the bed, slowly moving his hand around my waist, and his soft lips moving to my neck. He pushed me back on the bed. We had been together for a while now but we still hadn’t done ‘anything’. I just wasn’t ready to. Just then Damon and Tony walked through the door.
Jumping up and straightening myself out, I looked at Austin whose gorgeous body tensed up beside me, and Damon glared at Austin. There was a sudden tension in the dorm room, and you could almost see it. I looked at Tony, who was looking at the boys like she was getting sick of the way they were acting, but she also looked almost worried, I just couldn’t figure out what she was worried about, them fighting maybe? I mean Damon looked kind of buff, but Austin was really muscly, like really muscly, that’s one of the reasons how he first caught my eye.
“Boys? I’m bored of this, give it up? Plus, you know it’s not just you two in the room. And there is obviously some new shit on the wall, so can we not ruin posh-tits art work please?” Tony said in such a drone like voice.
“Yeah I know but Austin’s told posh-tits everything already, right Mr Stewart?” Damon said, through gritted teeth, then looking at Austin’s face, the same as everyone but me, as I was still looking at Damon’s. A creepy grin climbed up his face, “Oh, so you haven’t yet? Well Miss Andrew, let me do the honour, your ba-”
“Don’t you dare!” Austin shouted over him, throwing his hand back and forming a long icicle in his hand, at the same time Damon pulled his hand back, and his fingers started forming sparks, then slowly but surely a ball of red lightning grew in his hand, and at the same time, that same evil, creepy grin grew on his face.
“What you gonna do Stewart?!” Damon dared Austin. I looked at Tony for help but she was on her bed playing with fire, literally.
“STOP!” I shouted, causing them both to jump. They obviously forgot I was there, “What are you guys doing, this is my first day here, and you are fighting, it’s pointless and downright annoying. If you’re going to fight, take it outside and stop talking about me like I’m not here too!”
Looking between the two boys, and having Tony staring at me too, I turned to Austin…
“What is Damon talking about? What haven’t you told me? And why?” I asked him straight up, with my hands on my hips, demanding an answer to them all.
Austin just looked at me, and I could feel myself getting angry because I knew he wasn’t going to tell me. Finally I flipped, lifting my hands up I let out a noise of giving up and flicked my hands, but then jumping back, making an O with my mouth as I looked at Austin and Damon on the floor by the walls….
“What the hell just happened?” I asked as I ran over to help Austin, and Tony walked over to Damon.
“You okay man?” she asked him, with no care in her tone at all.
“Yeah, top notch, just been flew into a wall, but I’m great.” He answered grumpily. At least they weren’t fighting anymore.
When Austin had stood up, I took a look at my hands. They looked as normal as every but I didn’t know how I had just done that. I knew that I could move things, but two people, the weight of those lads, and that far. It scared me, I scared me….
“Anyone cares to explain what the hell I just accomplished and why I managed to accomplish it, and Austin, if you don’t tell me what you and Damon where talking about, then I’ll just ask Damon…” I said with a straight face, and demanding an answer, again.
“I can’t tell you.” Austin said to me straight. “It’s in your best interest that you find out on your own.”
I just looked at him... is he being serious right now? He can’t be serious... he just stood and talked about me behind y back and then won’t tell me what he was saying and I have to find out on my own?
“Right then... Well I’m gonna’ go-” I started.
“Go where?” Damon and Austin both asked me at the same time.
“Away from the both of you, I think I’ve caused enough trouble between the load of us for this life time, and I do not want to cause anymore...” I laughed at the end, and looked at them. Why are they looking at me funny?
“You can’t leave.” Damon said bluntly.
“It's not up to you, it’s up to me. Payson, you can’t leave.” Austin said, first to Damon then to me.
“It's not up to either of you. It’s up to me, it’s my life, my first day, and my option, plus I want to find out what the hell you guys were talking about so I’ll probably go to the library.” I said as fast as I could so they couldn’t interrupt me. They both seemed to have a bad habit doing that. Before they could say another word, I stuffed my iPod into my pocket, with my keys and left, leaving them both with their mouths hanging open like they were catching flies. Tony was on the bed.
I don’t think she cares anymore. I wish the other two didn’t. I don’t even know where im going right now either its just ridiculous. This place does not need to be this big, its just a damn school... or is it a college. I don’t even know. I don’t know where i am, who Damon or Tony are, and why they know more about me than i do. I don’t like it, its not nice and its like everyone keeps staring at me.
I stopped to look around. Everyone was staring at me, they were looking like they were expecting something from me.
This is getting creepy...
Looking around i checked for an escape, just then i caught a glimpse of a shelf of books through a window, and headed that way. Five minutes later, i was hidden well in the stacks of the library, which i later found was a school. Reading up on the impossible, but its was all so factual....
‘The powers have passed through generations, as they grow in one generation; they become more powerful for the next. Each being has certain ability, just one power, it could be anything at all, but normally relates to their likes. Whether it’s including swimming, they could control water. Some control earth, being able to make things grow or even move the earth if the being be powerful enough. Some may even be able to control the weather, make it rain, snow, even thunder and lightning. Some can only control lightning. While others may control electricity, or wind. Some may have the ability to read minds, or move objects (telekinesis).
One being that only comes around once a generation is a one in a million, when it comes to beings with abilities. Whereas all the others, theres more than one being, with the ability to control the same thing. This being is a one kind being. This one being is always female, and is complete beauty from the core. She will be innocent, until the day of her 18th birthday. When she will gain her ability; which is every element, and has the ability to copy abilities of those around her.’
I just stared at the book. I would HATE to be her.....
