not to be gross but lucifer treats chloe as if he came across the most beautiful flower while being stuck permanently in hell.
one day he comes across a splash of colour through the dark and dull depths of hell. completely infatuated, he walks over to see what it is. it's vibrant, colourful, alive, and very much beautiful. scared of tainting it with his touch, he admires it with his eyes. he breaths in the scent and it feels as if it was the first proper breath he has ever taken in his existence. he realizes how pathetic he looks next to this single, tiny flower but he doesn't care it's been millions of years since he last saw something so beautiful. the pesky little thing thing was oddly safe & loving. it was like a slice of heaven. it felt like home. he realized it'd be best to leave it alone. he was worried it was a sort of trap from his father above and couldn't even bat an eye towards it out of fear of burning it with his blood red eyes, or even tarnishing it by a light touch from his tainted finger. the flower started to wilt and lose all it's life. he needs to help it, he can't let it go. he can't lose the only light left in such a dark and cruel place. he's can't believe he's softened up this much to something so delicate and pathetic but he can't pretend to ignore its cry for help in the back of his mind. he's the only one that can help bring it back to life.
he cares for it. feeds it, watches it grow, checks up on it, and keeps it safe from all of the demons around. the flower grows next to him as time passes and can't help but stand out through the darkness of it all. it would have never been standing as tall shining brighter than ever if it wasn't for him.
he continues to care for it and check up on it everyday. he's found something that makes him smile and make the everlasting time worthwhile. the flower will continue to grow and grow as the days go on, and lucifer will continue to find new beauty and love within it each passing day.
He never finds out how such a strange miracle ever came to be, but he thanks his father for the seed that fell from the heavens above.
