this is called when a pup has grown its back teeth normally or when the Alpha thinks there ready. The Alpha will request a piece of prey, ( a White rabbit) and the lowest patrol dog and omega will carry it to the Alpha then head back. After the dogs leave, the Alpha will command two dogs to step forward. One dog will put their paws on the prey's forelegs, with the other dog placing their paws on its hind legs. The Alpha will put their paw down and crush the prey's head. The Alpha will rip the prey's pelt off while the body is given to the Beta. Once the Alpha is completed with this task, the Beta will toss the carcass aside.
the Moon-dog will begin to shine down on the white pelt. the Alpha will call the pups forward, the pups will jump onto the rock and sit on the pelt and the Alpha will reassure the pups. he then say these words "The time has come for you to choose the names you will carry until you meet the Earth-Dog. So close your eyes, and turn your faces to the Moon-Dog. Now that she is at her brightest, she will show you who you are."
after the speech Alpha will start the great howl and one by one each dog will join in, when the howl fades the Alpha will question the pups their Choosen names. at this time the pups will open their eyes and choose their names they have thought of, like Squirm seeing a beetle or Nose thinking of the name Thorn.
