What is a Beta? A Beta is the second in Command dog, when in a pack most dogs call their packmates by their names but with Beta or Alpha or Omega they call them my their ranks. this sometimes happens with Third-dog when Alpha-Sweet referred to Twitch as Third-dog when she was mentioning something.
when an Alpha or Beta dies the Alpha must choose a new Beta. when the Alpha chooses one the dogs in the pack will give gifts to the newly made beta, the gifts will represent a Strength or Skill. with Lucky's Ceremony Snap gave Lucky bones of small creatures for he will have successful hunts, Martha gave him a Yellow stone so Lucky could heal any diversions, and a Sturdy branch from Bruno for Courage and Bravery.
after that the Alpha will secretly take the Beta out and the Alpha will give the Beta Special Scar that no other dogs can see, and they will promise to be loyal to each other.
