A small, pale girl was running around in circles with a darker-haired green-eyed boy. Another girl, with blue hair and eyes, were watching them from the river with amusement. Glory, Clay, Webs, and Dune were in the eating room. Glory's always-beautiful hair was aqua green with gray, and black, and Webs' pale green hair glowed faintly from the campfire in the room. Clay was busily munching on a piece of steak, while Glory watched him quietly with a mango in her hand. Webs was silently eating a small fish, while Dune left quietly, his scar on his eye shining as he left. Sunny and Starflight bounded in, and Tsunami went in last.
"I'm guessing there is just steak, fish and fruit?" Tsunami said, amused as Dune left without speaking at all.
"Yep. Better get busy eating, or Clay will eat it all." Glory said sarcastically.
"Hey! You know how I am around food!" Clay grumbled, getting a fish, cooking it and then eating it.
"I wish there were marshmallows. Or chocolate. Or graham crackers. Ooh! Or ALL of them, for S'mores!" Sunny complained, finding the smallest steak and eating it.
"You gotta admit, those S'mores WERE good. But Kestrel is too mean to give them out.." Clay moaned.
Starflight ate quickly. The others just stared at him. Tsunami dropped her fish and it tried to flop back to the river quickly before it was caught again.
"Woah! Slow down there! Why are you eating so fast, Starflight? New book came in?" Tsunami asked and even Glory looked at him in astonishment, and Clay realized her hair changed to purple with hints of white and a hint of yellow highlights. Clay was surprised how quickly she could change her hair color.
"Nope. Well, partially. Kestrel promised me that she'd bring in a book that Morrowseer has wrote WITH HIS AUTOGRAPH! EEEEEEEE!" He said excitedly, his eyes sparkling. Clay laughed and Glory's hair was bright yellow. Both Clay and Glory knew how much Starflight fangirled Morrowseer. Clay remembered that Morrowseer was the dragon that wrote their prophecy.
"When the war has lasted twenty years.." Clay recited quietly.
"..The heroes will come." Sunny finished.
"When the land is soaked in blood, and tears.. The heroes will come." Starflight said.
"Find the blue-haired girl of deepest blue." Tsunami smiled.
"The black-haired boy will come to you." Starflight said again.
"The reddest hair in mountain high, will give to you the girl of sky." Glory said, and Clay knew that Glory knew that the red-haired girl was dead, and that Glory replaced her.
"For hair of earth, search through the mud, for the boy as brown-haired as mud." Clay said.
"And hidden alone from the rival queens, the hair of sand awaits unseen." Sunny said, bouncing happily.
"Of three queens who Blister, and Blaze, and Burn.." They all recited together.
"Two shall die, and one shall learn, if she bows to a fate that is stronger and higher, she'll have the power of hair of fire." Starflight said again.
"Five children come on brightest night, five children born to end the fight." Webs added.
"Darkness will rise.." Kestrel said, and they didn't even know the big red-haired girl was there.
"To bring the light. The heroes are coming." Dune finished with his deep voice. All of them were silent for a while, and Kestrel picked up the leftover food. Clay looked at it mournfully, and Kestrel went to go deposit it outside. Clay wondered what it was like out there. There was no exit from this cave, besides the boulder, and the only outside they saw was through the Sky-Hole. Sure, they were born outside the cave, but they were barely three when they came. They didn't know anything about the outside, except that it was bright with a lot of villages and people and mountains and trees..
"Well, you guys should head to bed. Off you go.." Webs said suddenly, cutting Clay out of his thoughts. Glory smiled, her hair the normal dark green that she was born with. Webs wasn't the best, but he was nicer then Dune or Kestrel. They've heard stories on how he was kicked out of the Sea Kingdom by Queen Coral for taking Tsunami, how Dune was kicked from the Sand Kingdom, and how Scarlet banned Kestrel from the Sky Kingdom. Clay shuddered. The queens sounded horrible. Tsunami was convinced she was Queen Coral's only daughter, since Starflight said that there was only one and, in her favorite book, The Missing Princess, the queen was outraged by her daughter being missing. Glory thought she wasn't supposed to be in the prophecy, and that it called for a red-haired girl and not a girl from the Rain Kingdom with some sort of magic when it comes to changing her hair color. Clay wondered what his parents were like, and if they were even alive still. He realized that Sunny was tapping him out of his thoughts and that only him and the small pale yellow-haired girl in the cave still. He blushed, embarrassed, and followed Sunny to the sleeping cave. He went into his bed, tucked himself in, tucked Sunny in, then went to sleep. That day was perfect.
Clay wandered the winding corridors of the cave, looking for the others. He saw a small animal in the corner. Wondering what it was, he picked it up. It had a cute face, with an even cuter smile. Its tail wagged happily and it barked. What is this..? He thought, shrugging and bringing it back to the sleeping cave. When he came back from dinner, Glory's hair was bright red and black, and he saw that the cute dog had become a dragon, and had messed up each bed! He looked around frantically for Sunny, but couldn't find her. He couldn't find Tsunami, Starflight, Webs, Kestrel or Dune, either. Just then, the dragon came at him with its sharp teeth!
"What just happened?! Is everyone okay?!" Clay woke up, gasping. He saw all of them wake up quickly, staring at him. Glory's hair was the pink-yellow combo he rarely saw, which quickly went to red, green and purple.
"Y-Yes..? Have a nightmare?" Sunny asked, worried for him.
"I-I'm fine." Clay replied.
"You really think so..? Because I think you had a dream with me about a dragon eating everyone, and-" Sunny said, concerned.
"I said no.. I'm fine!" Clay yelled, quite louder then he wanted, and stormed out. Glory's hair had changed to white with hints of green, pale green and purple.
Clay went to the eating room, snagging a small marshmallow from the marshmallow basket. He sighed, and Sunny, Starflight and the others came in. They saw him just eat a marshmallow then leave, and now they were very worried about him. He usually never ate lightly. Something is wrong, Sunny thought. And I'm gonna find out what it is.
