Welcome To Wonderland

For one thing, Alice was not expecting the first thing for her to see at her brand new school to be a kid with snowy white hair and dark eyes shouting at a kid with long black hair with various shades of greens, blues and pinks thrown through his hair and a green bandana on top of his head in the middle of the classroom over what kind of tea they should have after school. She stood at the door, staring blankly into the room before a kid with black hair and bright blue/aqua highlights noticed her and grinned widely.

“You look confused, are you new?” He questioned, grin never once leaving his face. She nodded.

               “Yes, I’m Alice. Alice Kingsley.”

“Welcome, Alice.” He spoke in a soft, sultry voice. She raised a brow, confused. Her thoughts were cut off by a shout.

“No, we had Earl Grey last time! Today we shall have Red Rose tea!” It was the dark eyed one.

“But Earl Grey is the best!” Cut off the colorful one. Suddenly, a boy with bright orange hair and an over-the-top hat (get it?) stood between them and held up a bag of Buckingham Palace Garden Party Tea bags.

“Dormy, March, please. If we are to have a mad tea party, we should have party tea, yes?” the orange one spoke in a goofy voice and a wide grin.

“Perfect, Hatter!” Shouted the white haired one Alice guessed was the one referred to as ‘Dormy’. He clapped and ‘March’ pushed the bag of tea into ‘Hatter’s’ face. ‘Hatter’ laughed playfully until the kid who had spoken to her took his hat.

“Hatter, we have a new face. She is called Alice.” He told him.

“Alice? Excellent! Thank you, Cheshire.” ‘Cheshire’ grinned again, but it vanished quickly as ‘Hatter’ quickly took his hat back and dusted it off.

“Sorry about that, I’m Tarrant Hightopp but everyone calls me Hatter. The two fools over there,” he gestured to the two boys who had been arguing previously, “Are Mallymkun and Thackery, but everyone calls them Dormouse and March Hare, or Dormy and March. The guy who took my hat, again, was Chesshir, but he goes by Cheshire.” He grinned at her warmly. She smiled back, slightly.

“I’m Alice. Alice Kingsley. I just transferred he--”

“Of course! Miss Kingsley, the rumored Alice to enter Wonderland!” He grinned, as if this was all some sort of joke about Wonderland or something. He chuckled and she sighed. He face shifted into one of confusion at her sigh.

“Is something the matter?” He questioned.

“No, just… you made an ‘Alice in Wonderland’ joke. And it just seems weird seeing as you all go by names of the characters in the books.” He chuckled again.

“That’s the joke, my dear.”  His grin stayed put, much to Alice’s distress. Tarrant chuckled once more.

“Would you like to join us for tea after school, my dear?”

“If you stop calling me ‘my dear’ I’ll consider it.” His grinned widened. She looked away, face flushed.

“I can’t promise anything.” She gave a playful glare. The group was cut off by a short, red haired woman stomping into the class.

"Alright, class, seeing as there is, in fact, a new student, we will have to skip the test and take it tomorrow." Everyone cheered.

"But it will have 10 extra problems and be worth 5% more, meaning, it's worth 15% of your grade." She snapped. Everyone who had cheered, groaned.

This was an interesting start of a new life. But besides the intense teacher who seemed to teach everything because there was no one else there, everyone seemed pretty nice.
