Conner's girlfriend Hanako was murdered in her sleep by a sleep Player killer. His sister Graya was also kidnapped by the same people who murdered his lover. Episode 3: Time to strike

February 13th, Floor 5: Undisclosed location of the assassin hideout.

Conners P.O.V

Brantley handed me the blade and bracer that I found in that dungeon room, it was fixed as one. I took it from his hand and right as I was about to put it on, he stopped and told me my ring finger needed removed before putting the bracer on.

Brantley: Woah there. Slow your roll there buckaroo. You gotta chop off that ring finger before you can use that. Your bracer requires a finger removal.

I let out a sigh of disappointment, I was confused at first as to why I had to remove my ring finger.

Conner: Do I really? Why do I have to get it chopped off?

Brantley: Hey dumbass, it'll grow back we're in a game. Imma go get the butcher knife i'll be back.

I looked to the other assassins for questions.

Conner: Did y'all have to do this?

Rose: Nope, not me I was born without mine.

Jake: No, my bracer makes it sit away and farther out from my hand, I'm in the all clear mate.

Francesco: Mines the same, it sits away from my hand so I don't get my finger taken off during a battle.

Conner: So how come I gotta do this then?

Jake and Francesco shrugged their shoulders and threw their hands up.

Francesco: Some bracers are different from others, it's also an old tradition for the assassin's my friend.

Brantley comes back with a butcher's knife. He slams it into the table and tells me to cut off my ring finger.

Conner: Why can't you do it?

Brantley: Because the user has to do it otherwise it will grow back.

Conner: So you do it then so I can get my goddamn ring finger back, dumbass!

I placed my ring finger on the edge of the table and clenched my eyes shut waiting to feel that sharp pain, only to hear the thump but I felt no pain. I opened my eyes to see the knife in the table, inches from my finger. I heard Brantley start snickering, that progressed to him bursting out with hysterical laughter and him rolling on the floor.

Conner: What the hells so funny?

Brantley: You thought I was going to risk myself turning into an orange player all because of hurting your finger. Hell no!

Francesco: I forgot to mention, he pulls that trick on every new recruit he gets.

Jake & Rose: Yep...
