Winter. It's the most beautiful season of the year.

Christmas is just in 12 days and I can't even feel it yet.

The road is filled with melted snow here and there. I felt chilly walking in this sidewalk.

It will be my first Christmas away from my family and I honestly don't know how to feel. You see, I'm in this place many people call hell. It is full of personalities and big buildings, so compact yet so complicated in their own ways.

I make my way to my dormitory and admired the beautiful nature. I always loved being outside, probably because it's rare to see it. I'm looking forward for this group of tests and I'm not studying to fail, even though I rarely excel.

I mean, go big or go home, right?

I opened the dormitory's door and quickly get into my room as quiet as possible because apparently, no one is having Christmas. But that's a hyperbole.

When I got to my room, Annie gave me a big smile and greeted me. "Oh, hi there!" She got back to her studying after I greeted her. She can't literally be disturbed because she's studying Law.

I undress my scarf and boots leaving my shirt and sweater and pants on. Though what I am wearing is pretty thick, it still feel chilly.

"Cute scarf," Annie complimented me. "Totally sick design. It highlights your outfit."

"Thank you." I replied with a smile. "Exactly."

Annie and I were not the best of friends. I would say our friendship is pretty great. We've talked about our lives together before, in which I found out how she personally love fashion. She's came from a rich family and she always has a strict allowance which is not a normal allowance for a teenager. And, like any other families, she was forced to take the Academic track. She said she don't hate it but she doesn't love it either.

"You're welcome. Hey, do you want to join me to the coffeehouse?" Annie asked.

"No thanks, I'm good here. I still need to study so.. Thanks though." I declined in the politest way possible, probably because I don't want her to think that I don't like her.

Annie is kind of my only friend. Partly because she's my roommate and partly because it's my first year here.

Senior High School, huh? Who would've thought I'd hate it here.

I've moved school just because I was amazed by their brochures. They offer great facilities and they have a great reputation, but it doesn't come in a lightweight way.

Studying is a ritual in this school. And because they said and I quote "You are here because you are qualified, because you have the potential. And we're here to train you to be better." Said the Principal. He literally have an Obama voice.

I still remember how I came here. A bus came from my home, waiting for me. It felt prestige, but when I got inside I realized that I'm not the only 17 year old teenager who experienced this lux. We were escorted by a staff member from the gates to the main building that day. And the most awesome part is how I'm going to study my whole Senior High School in a campus.

In the main building, there was a guy who was going to have a speech and it was the principal. His name is Principal Ken, which he said in the very first sentence of his speech. 10 minutes of the most cliche speech, a guy who was sitting next to me laughed. No. It was a chuckle that I didn't understand because I didn't pay attention to what Principal Ken just said, so I looked at him. And bam. What a guy he was.
