I wake up fairly early, around 11:30 A.M. , which is actually considered early for us. But last night I forgot to close the shade all the way and beams of sunlight poured in through the window.. I'm not upset though, I think she looks so beautiful when she's asleep. I could tell she was having a good dream, her lips were curled up ever so slightly in the corners. I didn't want to wake her, so I reluctantly got out of bed and closed the shade all the way so she would not be disturbed. I decided to make some tea, since there was no way I was going back to sleep. So I quietly snuck out of the bedroom and went in the kitchen to put the kettle on. It was mid- October, so I was chilly wearing only Wynter's flannel shirt and a pair of wool socks, but once the tea was made I warmed up pretty quick.
I came back into the bedroom with my steaming cup of tea and curled up to the window seat. I still wanted to let Wynter sleep so I only looked the window through a small opening in the curtain. The way the light was at this time of day made the whole room look still. You could see the dust particles swirling around in the air where rays of sunlight sneak in. The steam from my mug was rising in violent swirls and vanishing into the ceiling. I'm not sure what woke her up but after a few moments she started She fell asleep with her hair in a messy-bun, and after last night its become more of a messy pony tail. Wynter's hair is the most beautiful shade of red and when the sun hits it just right she has golden amber highlights- it really suits her pale porceleain skin and honey-brown eyes. She is the most beautiful girl I had ever been able to call mine.
I'm not sure what woke her up but after a few moments she rolled around and reached over to look for me. After a few groggy stretches, she finally noticed that I wasn't lying in bed next to her and when she couldn't find me, she sat up and rubbed her eyes, she looked up at me and smiled, her dimples as cute and adorable as ever. She yawned and said
"Goodmorning sunshine."
Then she got out of bed and joined me on the window seat. Its not a very big window seat, so she was on the left side and I was on the right, and our legs overlapped a bit. I handed her the other mug, and we sat there, looking out of the window with our steamy teas until they ran out and it was time to start the day.
