Aria-
I walked through the corridors of Rosemore on Friday morning, I was still getting used to the change. I was so used to being stared at, sometimes glared at, sometimes gazed at, but I was invisible here and it was strangely nice. It's been about a months and I think it's safe to say I officially am a Rosemore kid. I used to go to a school on the other side of town called Ocean high and I still have heaps of friends there but things changed and I moved so here I am!
I made my way to English and took my seat. It was in the back and I loved it, I could see everything and watch the popular kids and the less like students interact. I am a creep, I know but for so much of my life was being watch so I savour the moments when I can watch others become hidden because i know my secret won't last forever.
The bell rang and more and more students started to fill the classroom, Elizabeth Mckenzie rosemore's very own queen bee walks in followed by a few of her 'friends'. They all strut to their seats towards the left of the room and flash their jewelry the to class as much as possible yet somehow they dont look desperate but exclusive and intimidating. The nerds cower in their seats on the right, praying they won't be todays target, after all the queen we calls the shots. Not long after, the jocks follow, Damien Mckenzie in the lead then followed by his poses. Elizabeth and Damien, the most powerful twins in the school. Most schools were ruled by the 'perfect couple' but Rosemore looked up to a family. Elizabeth flicks her golden hair over her shoulder and blinks her blue eyes at her brother while Damien smiles cheekily at his elder sibling. The deadly combination of dark brown hair and intellegent blue grey eyes only aids his goal in capturing every Rosemore girl's heart. Together, the two were unstoppable in Rosemore. They had their father's influence on the adults, Elizabeth's influence on the females and Damien's on the males. Not only that but both were atheletic, intellegent and gorgeous. Talk about fair.
"Alright settle down everybody," Mrs Cowen, the englsih teacher, said as she walked in. I looked around and noticed the absence of my friend Lily, guessing she was probably late I put up my hand to cover for the little red head only to see her sneeking in behind the teacher. "Ms Jones, please take your seat and refrain from being late agian."
Lily's eye grow wide and she tries to hide her grin as hurries to her seat. "Oh my god! How did she know? She didn't even turn around!"
"Lily, you've been late everyday, I think the teachers have noticed a pattern," I whisper back.
She only blinks her emerald green eyes at me, "I am not! And when I am, I always have a legitament reason!" Nodding my head condencendingly I turn to the front only to meet Mrs Cowen's glare.
"Done with you conversation Mrs Perez?"
"Yes Miss,"
"Well maybe you'd like to pay attention to my class then?" I nod my head in reply and listen to her as she explains our assignemnt. Somthing about choosing a Shakespeare play, researching it and rewriting a portian of it in modern times.
Aubrey Jones puts her hand up in while popping her gum in her mouth and Interrupts the teacher's monalogue, "Can we work in partners miss?"
"If you had let me finish Aubrey then I would have gotten to that part, yes you will be working in partners," at this sentence Aubrey turns arounds and winks at Damien which was quickly returned, I guess she was the flavour of the week. "But unfortunately for you, I will be assigning your partners." Groans errupted from around the room, especially from the smarter people, if they ended up with a less intellectually able student then they knew they would be doing most of the work if they wanted to upkeep their average. Ignoring the sounds of displeasure, Mrs Cowen starts to pair up random students from her roll, "Aria Perez will be working with Ben Reed," Ben Reed? Who's he?
A tall sandy blonde jock stands upat the left sid eof the room and looks around until he spots me, flashes me one of his grins and makes his way towards me. "Hi I'm Ben, don't believe we've met?"
I reutrn his smile and stick my hand out, "Aria,"
"I know" he says flashing me a cute little grin as he takes the now free seat next to me, taking a moment to process my luck I watched as Lily moved towards her partner, apparently she ended up with one of the smart kids. Lucky Her. "You're the new girl right? The one from Ocean High? Bet you''re glad you transferred!"
"Yeah, I guess, but i've been here for a about month now."
His grin widens, his dimple at full force now " Sorry, its just that it is hard to miss a beauty like you and you hear things y'know?" I simply stare at him, "what? I like Asians!" again I didn't bother replying, and just stare at him. His smile starts to slip, "ok, no flirting i guess?"
Finally I rsmile at him, "I'm actually a half."
"What?" He looks at me confused
"I'm half Asian, and do you have any idea what to do this assignment on?" He chuckled at my remark and leans back as if in defeat.
"I was thinking Romeo and Juliet actually, I know it's pretty unoriginal but that's also a reason why other groups won't think of doing it and there would be a lot on it,"
A little bit surprised at the intellegent words coming from his mouth it took moment to realise he made an excellent point and wrote it down in my notebook, "I was going to say Midsummer's Night Dream but you make a good point," I try not to judge people on first impressions but it was easier said then done.
The bell decided to ring at that moment to signal the end of the period, Ben gathers his things and starts to stand, "Awesome, I'll see you tomorrow then and we can plan study seshes and stuff but just for tonight just try to gather a bit of information on Romeo and Juliet,"
"Sure, I'll see you later then," I smile and make my way over to Lily, We had maths together next and our teacher was super strict on punctuality so I had to make sure we got there on time.
Alright, what did you think!? It's my first story so give me you're best criticism!
