Today was the first day of school and I was a hot mess. I had a really annoying summer and I was ready for it to be over. I got out of bed and got ready for school. When the bus came to my stop I got on and sat next to my best friend London. London always wanted to be an artist and she's really good at drawing. "Hi Kulture," London said with a smile, "how was your summer? I heard you went to Hawaii." "It was fine." I replied. When we got to school I got my schedule and I walked to my first period class which was Science. When I walked into the classroom, my teacher told me to sit at desk 12. The desks were set up in a way where there are two desks next to each other. I waited a while for my partner to be seated next to me, but it didn't happen. The bell rang and I was worried that I was going to be the only person without a partner.
A few minutes into class someone knocked on the door. When the teacher opened it I saw a familiar face that I thought I would never see again. "Please don't sit next to me, please, please, please..." I whispered. "You will sit at desk number 13." The teacher claimed. "No." I whispered. I covered my face so he wouldn't be able to see me. When he sat down, he smiled at me but he still couldn't see my face. "Hey I'm Trey." He said reaching out his hand. I lowered my book and stared at him. "Kulture," He exclaimed, "you go here?" "Yeah." I said with a grin. "Wow I haven't seen you since-" "That thing I don't want to talk about." I cut him off. "Kulture, Trey, stop talking please!" The teacher yells. "The people you are sitting next to are the people you will be sitting next to for the rest of the year." "What?" I scream. Then the teacher rolled her eyes and continued explaining. As soon as the bell rang, I rushed out the door. "Hey, wait up." Trey yelled as he grabbed my backpack to pull me back. "What do you want Trey?" I asked. "I just want to talk. What class do you have next?" Trey exclaims. "Why do you need to know?" I asked again. "Maybe I can walk you there so we can catch up," he says with a smile. "I have Marine Psychology, now can you please leave me alone." I say as I walk faster to my class. When I get to class I start feeling bad. Maybe I was too hard on him. Lunch rolls around the corner and I go to a table and pull out my lunch. Then Trey sits in front of me. As soon as I see him sit down I roll my eyes. "Look I'm sorry for what happened. I don't know what I did wrong. I..... I didn't mean to...." He apologizes. "Can we not talk about this please?" I plead. Then London sits beside me. "Hey whats up?" she says. "Nothing!" Trey says as he gets up and sits at another table full of guys. "Who's he?" London asks. "No one." I respond.
After lunch I head to my next period which is P.E., P.E. is one of the coolest classes. I like running around the track because it helps take my mind off of things. When I walk into class I look around the room and I realize that I have this class with London and.... Trey. "Great." I whisper. After we change I run the track with London and I get about 1 lap done before London runs with her other friend. Then I start running by myself until Trey starts running beside me. "What now? Can't you see I don't want to talk to you right now." I say. "Sorry. Can I at least talk and you listen?" Trey responds. "Fine" I say aggressively. On the track I look ahead and see another familiar face. I started running slower and slower until I wasn't running at all. "Hey are you okay?" Trey asks concerned. I start to hyperventilate and the next thing I know it's pitch black. I wake up in the schools nurse office confused. "What happened?" I asked. "You passed out, but thankfully your friend got you out of the hot sun before this became serious." The nurse replies. "Oh." I say. After I left the nurse, it was time to go home so I rode the bus and told London everything that happened over the summer. "It all started when I went on vacation to Hawaii." I say.
