"Hold my Kampilan my Son, as you embark in this new journey, it will be yours someday. The Blades of that Sword will Protect our People" Datu Mangal said bravely to his son Lapu-Lapu as they sail into the stormy seas raiding a Moro ship. Lapu-Lapu looks at his old ailing Father and accepts the sword. The Tribe's Balangay got closer and closer to the Pirate ship, Lapu-Lapu signals his men to target the ship with their fire bows and arrows and screams dramatically as they hit the wooden ship, all of the warriors quickly jumps towards the ship with their swords aiming anyone who gets into their way."Prove something to me my son, Kill. Kill for Glory" Datu Mangal whispered to Lapu-Lapu as he stayed on the Balangay watching his tribe slaughtering the entire crew of the raided ship. Lapu-Lapu inhales and absorbs as rain drops towards his face and slowly walks through the ship. Blood scattered everywhere as the rain is crying for them, but Lapu-Lapu's crew strives as he screams for victory as they slaughtered everyone on board.
"Who is incharge of this ship!?" Lapu-Lapu angrily asked as he stepped on the bloods of the pirates.
"Here is their Leader, we saved him for you" Saguben, the brother of Lapu-Lapu said grabbing the hair of the Captain of the ship bringing him to the Chief, he kneeled to Lapu-Lapu as he cries and beg for his life as the Kampilan aims towards his head.
"A Crying Captain, do you know the policy when crossing my region?" Lapu-Lapu asked the Captain.
The Captain just nodded and continue crying for his life. "Do you even know me Moro? We are the Heroes of this Land, whoever crosses it should go and report directly to me and bring whatever goods and golds they have, but you never did, you polluted other regions, but here? We are warriors, so this ship is mine, your golds are mine. You are mine." Lapu-Lapu added, this time the Captain looks at him straight to his eyes and looks at his fallen men, stabbed and slaughtered to death.
"Kill me at once, stole our goods and rape our wives, Golds and goods will remain and will never die, but you, you will die as a Pirate and not a Hero to your people. You will die just like me."
The Captain said to Lapu-Lapu and spit to his face, The Chief was shocked by this and stepped backwards confused and didn't know what to react, Saguben suddenly calls him and quickly beheaded the Moro Captain in-front of him. Datu Mangal on the other hand silently observes his son in the Balangay and as Lapu-Lapu turned his head towards him, the old Datu shakes his head as he is disappointed on what happened. The Men looted the whole ship, the dead crew was thrown into the ocean as the Moro ship was left alone at sea. As they left, Lapu-Lapu looked the ship one last time, as he recalls what the Moro Captain said to him. "You will die as a Pirate and not a Hero to your people" He looked dazed, and sadness came upon the brave chief as a terrible memory he suddenly remembered from years before, he closes his eyes and as the splashes of the waves hit their Balangay, he heard the screams of the battle on the land they left before.
Datu Mangal wakes him up from this,
"You are coward, you should be the one who beheaded the Captain and not your brother. You are the Next Datu, Lapu-Lapu you should know better. I told you to be brave, teach yourself to be brave." The Datu said to his son as disappointment slowly grows into him. As soon as they landed at the shore, Saguben confronts his brother who is utterly sad and angry. He puts his hand to Lapu-Lapu's shoulders and comforts him.
"What happened out there? Why did you suddenly become anxious of what happened?" Saguben asked his brother,
Lapu-Lapu exhales
"It's nothing, I just felt like we are becoming the enemies and not the heroes, this is not what we are doing before." The Chief explained as he grimly remembers the past.
