Dawn of the First Rant, Persona 5 Royal

Alright, so let's start the note taking! Fair warning, this'll read pretty odd. Also heavy spoilers.

Sept 7

1:38 AM - Guess I'm finally getting hip with the times, yo. I say that because I audibly called Mishima a simp. Can't say it's not accurate though.

10:23 PM - Was Ryuji getting kidnapped by drag queens in the original? Did we all just block it from our minds?

11:39 PM - I POUR MY SOUL INTO THIS BOWL

1:42 AM - Note: Yusuke probably wears eyeliner or mascara. I just noticed the little lower lashes he has.

4:52 AM - I never really liked Akechi before, but it turns out he wears argyle sweater vests so I have to now.

Sep 9

5:44 PM - Current question: Why in all of the seven seas did Akechi draw attention to himself? After Okumura died, Sae was obviously pointing the finger at the Phantom Thieves. So why was Akechi trying to point out that there could have been another Metaverse user? Psychopath over here is playing some fourth-dimensional chess.

5:48 PM - Also I've gotta feel bad for Maruki. Poor sad therapist man.

5:57 PM - Another thing to note: Through the sheer amounts of vine compilations I've watched, I think I found the most popular ship. And it was actually kind of fun, you should try it sometime with a fandom you like. I've come out of it not pulling for any, but pretty certain it's not a three-way tie for the gents.

9:09 PM - Yusuke, please... just stop with the overanalyzing and dramatics. You're fine. And boy howdy, his laugh sounds borderline evil.

Sept 11

1:25 AM - Like him, Akechi's outfits have no chill. There is no in between with Crow and Black Mask. He either looks like a man at a masquerade ball, or a Spirit Halloween costume. I take the last part back somewhat, but it's still not great. Who wears belts on their legs?

5:24 PM - Ol' Bastard man is really being like "hey there, could you join up with me instead of your friends so I don't gotta kill you?"

6:28 PM - Yusuke was tricked. He was tricked, backstabbed, and absolutely bamboozled. Art director man really threw him for multiple loops and made him cry on the floor in despair.

6:52 AM - And first glimpse of the bastard beneath. I was wondering why everyone was using the "let me tell you a secret, I hate you" vine for Akechi, but I get it now.

7:06 PM - "This overwhelmingly forgettable appearance, generic speech style, and total lack of sex appeal... Nishima, are you an NPC?" And he still tries to get with her after this! Mishima is the lord of the simps.

Sept 12

12:05 AM - Another thing I never noticed before is how when you're shopping at Iwai's, all the thieves have little monikers. Ryuji is The Chariot, Yusuke is The Emperor, Haru's The Empress, etc. Everyone has something like this. Except Akechi. He's just Justice. Egotistical much?

1:41 PM - I think I'm starting to see just how much of an improvement Royal is. There's updated sprites, some new voice actors, more characters in general that are voiced, and generally better arcs in the confidant links. But the one thing that's starting to amaze me is the fact that I'm not seeing the plot twist coming, and I have SEEN PERSONA 5 THROUGH TO THE END.
