Just Give Me a Reason

Prologue

" So what were you doing with him, Sunshine? Are you cheating on me? Am I not good enough for you?!" Trent yells, breathing hard.

"We weren't doing anything, I promise!" I said.

"Really?! I saw the way he was looking at you. Do you think I'm stupid?! " ,he seethes.

"You need to calm down," I yell back and instantly I realize that it was a really bad idea. His eyes widen and instantly I know what's coming next.

" Don't tell me what to do you fucking whore!", he screams lunging at me.

As the blows come, the tears start to fall. It's happening again, I think. Why does this always happen to me? I scream in pain as he kicks me with his steel toed boots. I feel the blood running across my face and black spots crowd the edge of my vision.

" I love you, Sunshine! Don't you get that? I only do this because I love you!", Trent yells as he continues to beat me.

As I slowly lose conscinceness, I look up a Trent whos face is red and tears coat his neck.

"We're broken now, Trent", I manage to choke out, spitting out teeth. " We're broken now."

I feel my self slipping away and everything fades to black as I hear Trent screaming in the background.

That wasn't the first time Trent had beat me, but it certainly was the last. I had been hospitalized and put in a coma for three weeks. When I finally came to, I decided not to press charges ,much to the dismay of my parents. but I figured he was going to the military they'd kill him there. I just knew that I didn't want anything to do with his family ever again. I believed that I was done with the Hollingsworth family. How wrong was I. My journey with the Hollingsworth family was far from over.
