episode one - "a fresh team"

A-troupe get into formation for their first dance of the season. The song 'Lose Control' starts playing and the group moves to the music in their own way, before splitting off to the sides and doing solos.

Amy and Henry start as a duet, Henry splits off and Amy does a solo section.

AMY: We just came off a high from Dancemania, even though we didn't win. But now we're back at The Next Step for Nationals. I'm so excited, especially with Henry by my side.

Henry comes back into the middle, and does a lift with Amy before she leaves.

HENRY: Amy and I are doing amazing. We're having so much fun dancing together! But now that we're back at the studio, we want to go to Nationals. Just one problem: B-troupe are going.

Henry leaves and Kingston enters the dance floor, dancing a solo.

KINGSTON: It's so not fair that A-troupe don't get to go to Nationals.  We were going in the first place. B-troupe were just... a temporary replacement.

Lily joins Kingston in a short duet and he leaves the floor.

LILY: To be honest, I don't think A-troupe should go to Nationals. As much as I want to, B-troupe have done the work and they're ready to go. It's not fair.

Lily and Richelle do two hip bumps as Lily leaves, and Richelle does a solo.

RICHELLE: I think I've redeemed myself in the eyes of A-troupe. But I really can't be sure. Nationals would be perfect, it would be a way to fully redeem myself and maybe I can get my Face of Absolute Dance title back!

Ozzy comes into the dance and has a duet section with Richelle before doing a solo. 

OZZY: I'm just going to say it: I want to go to Nationals. I think A-troupe deserves it. I do feel for Izzy and the rest of B-troupe, I wouldn't want someone to steal Nationals from me if I was going. But we had it first, it's rightfully ours. It would also mean I get to spend more time with Richelle and... you know, that's always a plus. *wink at the camera*

Ozzy and Heath do a short duet and Heath starts a solo. 

HEATH: Dancemania was so fun, a once in a lifetime opportunity. I'm so happy with how we handled it, and now we get to go to Nationals! But I feel bad for taking it from B-troupe, if we do get to go, that is. I have a few good friends on B-troupe... but I'm not sure we'll be friends after this.

Heath exits, Piper and Finn start a duet.

PIPER: Things between me and Finn were a bit rough at Dancemania, but now that I've forgiven him we're better than ever.

FINN: I'm excited to start this new chapter of our relationship with Piper. I feel like we're stronger than ever. I really hope that we get to go to Nationals, and, who knows? Maybe we'll even get the duet. 

Piper and Finn do an impressive lift and go out of the centre, and Kenzie enters. 

KENZIE: Nothing is going to stop me or A-troupe from going to Nationals. It's my lifelong dream. And if you know me, I'm ambitious. I do anything to achieve my goals. If that means crushing a few B-trouper's dreams, so be it.
