When I turned 14, Jansen and I decided to visit an inhabited island to look for a certain raw material that's indigenous to that island, it was the very last material we need to make a very potent poison we manage to hoard a recipe of. Everything was set but at the last minute, Jansen was summoned by his dad. Well, it won't even matter to me even if he's around or not, so I decided to pursue the trip alone.

I borrowed my dad's yacht and set sail together with two bodyguards assigned to me by dad. When we almost reached the island I let them set down a small boat that I can use to reach the island. They know pretty well not to follow me or they'll die without knowing why.

When I'm a few feet away from the shore, I jump off the small boat and knocked it upside down. As it slowly sinks, I grabbed the chain connected to the boat and a small anchor and dragged it underwater, I hooked the chain into a big rock and secure it with the anchor to make sure the boat won't be snatched away by the underwater current then hurriedly swam to the shore.

It was around sunset when I arrived at the island and I felt like this is not an inhabited island at all. I can feel the presence of people, subtle and quiet, but it's there. I just ignored their presence and went straight to the forest. It's almost night time and I need to hurriedly find materials I can use to survive the night.

I first looked for herbs and other materials I can use to repel insects and snakes, harvesting other materials I can hoard while on it. I put all my harvest on the still soaking wet bag I brought with me, good thing I always have tons of zip-lock plastic bags with me.

As the moon slowly rose to its peak, I am already at the center of the forest looking for a suitable place to spend the night. It's past midnight when I reached a cave behind a waterfall. I was so hungry and exhausted so I decided to immediately settle my things inside the cave, start a fire, and start cleaning the meat of the prey I hunted.

After I'm done filling my stomach, I was about to put out the fire when I heard a subtle sound of footsteps. The steps were slow and light. I immediately took my bag and hid behind a nearby boulder.

The excitement was creeping inside me. I can't help but think about what kind of poison should I use at the intruder. When the intruder came into plain sight, I don't know what happened to me back then, it seems like I knew who she was base on how I acted in front of her but up to this date, whenever I tried to pry on my memories about that girl, all I can see were blurs. I can clearly remember everything that happens inside that cave, except for her face.

I went out from hiding and asked her what was she doing there but she just looked at me with her dark brown deadpan eyes. Her eyes felt like midnight; dark, cold, and silent.

After waiting for a few seconds without receiving any answers, I just sighed and shrugged my shoulders. I went back to where the fire was and picked up some of the meat I barbecued and gave it to her. She just looked at it at first but took it after a few seconds of hesitation. It seems like she's really hungry.
