Chapter One: Louis

Louis sat in the back of his father's car, his luggage bumping around in the trunk, as his headphines slipped from his ears once again. He was sprawled out in the backseat while his dad drove the white Tahoe past trees and barns. Louis knew that his mother lived in the suburbs of Doncaster, but hell, he didn't know that she lived so far from the city you couldn't contact anyone for hours.

The isolation was the last thing Louis needed as he was already secluded back at his dad's house. Mind you, his dad was never really home, always in buisiness meetings or stuck at work late. Loius was constantly forced to make his own meals, which resulted him cutting back on eating, seeing as he couldn't cook for shit. It was only natural that Louis was thin and paled, there was nothing he could really do about it anyways. Louis pulled out one headphone, looking at his dad through the mirror upfront, "Are we almost there?" he asked, twisting in his seat so that he could get a better veiw of the road ahead of him.

He heard his dad talking, but his music was still blaring into his right ear, making it hard to understand what he was saying. "Sorry what was that?" Louis asked, pulling out the second headphone now, sitting up straight. His dad just shook his head, grumbling profanities under his breath. " I said we'll be there in five minuets," he repeated, irritation clear in his voice.

Louis just nodded, putting his headphones back in and let his eyes gaze over the road.

Truth be told, his dad was right for once. Five mintues later, the car made a left at an intersection, then turning off into a cul-de-sac, the houses were closly pushed together. Louis silently prayed that his mom living with six siblings lived in one of the bigger lots rather than the smaller and older stacked houses. His hopes were once again put to an end when his dad pulled onto a gravel driveway, pulling into park.

The house's wooden frames were painted a light blue and the shingles matched with a darker shade. Another house, much lighter than the blue one was squished right beside it, only with green framing and darker green shingles.

Louis groaned and pushed the car door open, his dad picking up the three suitcases that Louis had, while Louis' backpack was slung around his shoulder, as he kicked up the gravel, creating black streaks on his white Vans, secretly, he loved getting them dirty.

His dad transported all of his luggage to the fornt steps of Jay's house and impatiently waited waited behind Louis. He was getting frustated at his gray beanie getting wet from the early spring rain. " The only reason I drove you here is because I have a conference in the city. You don know that boy? Otherwise i would saved my energy and deposited you in a coach bus," his dad grumbled, as if showing any sign of affection towards Louis would be the most horrible thing in the world.

Louis nodded, "Yeah I know."

The door flew open, "Oh, Louis."  There stood his mother, who he thought would burst into tears any second. She wrapped her arms around Louis, nearly choking him to death, as his sisters rushed outside. Phoebe and Daisy stared at him curiously, as if they didn't know who he was, and frankly he wasn't suprised.

"Where's Lottie and Fizzie?" Louis asked his eyes wondering.

His mom's eyes dropped, "Oh..well you see, they haven't seen you in such a long time, they felt as if you betrayed them in a way." She spoke as if it was complete nonsense, although Louis could hear the edge in her voice, nearly ripping her heart out.

He shook off the feelings of emptiness and focused on his two younger siblings behind his mother, "Hi girls!" he chriped amd waved. They only tightned their girp to their mother's leg. Louis once agin felt empty.

Louis thought his dad would be waiting to say good-bye, though when he turned around the white Tahoe was no where in sight. Louis' heart lurched. If anyone wanted to die right now it was Louis. He took a deep breath and followed Jay up the stairs, dragging his three suitcases behind him.

He slumped up the stairs, clutching the luggage , as his mom led him into a room. "Lottie and Fizzie's room is in the basement, they wanted more privacy. Daisy and Pheebs room is at the end of the hall," Jay pointed down a narrow hallway to a secluded room where he wouldn't be able to here the playful screams and just listen to his music quietly to himslef. He sheepishly thanked his mom and she excused herself for dinner.

He walked into his new room and noticed the pale yellow wallpaper peeling. Clearly the room hadn't been renovated in years, but posters should make up nicely for the shitty walls. The bed was luckily a creaky double with dark navy sheets and white pillows. There was a small wooden desk in front of his bed, and a closet beside the door, it wasn't huge, but he could manage.

There was a rather large window beside his bed. The house was so squished next to the green one, he was positive that he wouldn't have any privacy at all. He could look staright into the neighbor's bedroom, it would be perfect if a cute girl live there, 1. the room didn't look very girly and 2. Louis didn't even like girls. The neighbor's bedroom most likely belonged to a boy, judging by the boxers on the bed. Louis' stomach growled but he simply ignored the twisting feeling he always had. Don't get me wrong Louis ate, just not as much as he should.

Louis laid in bed that night, well on his bed, still in his clothes from earlier. He had his hands propped behind his back, elevating his head, his legs were crossed. He was quite comfortable besides the fact that he was terribly bored.

He sat up as an idea popped into his head. He wrapped up his headphones around his phone and shoved it in his pocket. He pulled his sleeves over his palms and dusted off the window sill, only before listing it up letting in a crisp cool breeze. No screen, perfect.

He cautiously stepped one foot onto the roof before whispering, "What the hell?" and climbed out. He laid down, unwravled his headphones, and let himslef relax into the cool night.

He was startled out of his worry- free sensation by a yellow light in front of him, soon noticing that it was the room across from him. His attention then focused on a bohy with curly hair in a black tee on, as he took off his pants, Louis flushed. He realized that he was intruding. It wasn't his fault, it's not like he intentionally  came out to spy on a some wha attractive boy whose bedroom just happened to be right across from his.
