Chapter 43

Soobin's POV

I walk home after a busy day at school, not forgetting Chunhua,I sigh as I remembered our first day as I passed by the cafe we had our first date.

Two figures came up to me one threw punch right at my jaw.

I rub my jaw in pain as I fell down the figure hovered above me grabbing the collar of my shirt making me look at the person in front of me.

It was Chunhua's brother, "You're so fucking stupid " he growled.

"You just let her leave? "

"You didn't even confront her and talk about it! "

"You let your emotions lead the way instead of your guts? "

"She wouldn't cut ties if something was wrong "

"Yes she may be selfish, but she did it for you "

"She broke down in front of us "

"She's drained mentally, emotionally, and physically "

"She tried to make everyone happy even if herself isn't "

"Sure call her selfish but she's selfless "

"There's always a reason why people do such things Soobin "

"I've  seen her ball her eyes out because she missed you "

"She blamed herself for making everyone suffer "

"She wished she was never born so nobody would get hurt! "

"And now she's dying in the hospital "

Chenle loosened his grip as he dropped to ground tears streaming down his face.

I stars at them eyes wide, "C'mon hyung let's go " Jisung helped Chenle stand up, I collected myself and trailed behind them.

We arrived at the hospital, the two ran to the icu and changed into the proper protection that the hospital provides.

I wore the surgical mask and gloves in fury, the nurse let us in as I met a barely awake Chunhua.

Skin pale, a oxygen mask covering half of her face, visible cuts and bruises on her arms, legs, and face,  a few stitches on her ankle,  and a  freshly stitched forehead.

"C-chunhua " I managed choke out as I sat right beside her.

"Soobin? " she muttered out, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry " she sobbed out to me, I intertwined our hands as I stared at her teary eyed.

"Chunhua please don't leave me, please " I begged her kissing her hand, "Would you let me leave? " my breath hitched.

I look at her, "N-no " I protested, "I thought I was the one in control, guess not " she chuckled as a tear rolled down her cheeks.

"I love you " I sobbed harder as she closed her eyes.

A straight line was projected on the screen, she's gone.

The doctors came rushing in as everybody in the room was forced out.

I sat in the waiting room staring at the ground until I felt a tap on my shoulder, I stare as I saw Chunhua's doctor staring at me with sympathy.

"Hey,  don't feel down just because you lost her because of her health, I didn't want to the you this but she tried committing suicide..... Four times a row " she hung her head low

"You, know you weren't the only one suffering " she started, "She's been here ever since she was five " she stopped as a sigh left her lips.

"Why " I croaked out voice cracked, "Well she was diagnosed with Cystic fibrosis,  when she was five and had to be confined until we found a donor " she looked at me with a smile.

"When she was eleven she was given another chance to live normally, that's what everybody thought, until she was diagnosed with lung cancer a year later " a frown was plastered on her face.

"When she came here to be confined for cancer, she was hit by truck while walking home thankfully not breaking any bones " she bit her lip and looked at me straight in the eye.

"Last night she snuck out and went to the park, while playing on the frozen lake she, the ice cracked resulting her to fall in the freezing water, she got out of the water and went home but she tripped and hit her head on the metal part of the bench, she was found two hours later, nearly dying because of hyperthermia " she added.

She handed me an envelope, "Chunhua said to give you this and to go to her room in their house " she patted my shoulder and left me there.

I ran to her house not caring if I was still wearing the protection from the hospital.

I barge into her room, a box sitting nicely on her bed and a few papers scattered, I saw Mallow looking at me tilting her head to the side.

I take off the mask and open up the box, it was filled with our pictures, matching clothes and shoes,and her phone and iPad.

I hug the black hoodie that belonged ti her and sobbed even harder, I take the scattered paper and it read Donation certificate.

I bit my lip as Chenle was right she wanted to make everyone contented, I read the name of the patient she'll be giving her organs to excluding her lungs to.

I saw a familiar name Han Yuki.

I heard a ding from Chunhua's iPad diverting my attention to the gadget.

I open the notification which lead me to her youtube channel. 

It was a cover of remember me by Chunhua.

I sobbed as it played in the background, I clutched the hoodie harder as I heard her soft voice.
