𝑪𝒉. 10 - 𝑯𝒂𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒄𝒐𝒖𝒓𝒂𝒈𝒆

That night, you laid in your bed. Insomnia taking over your body. Thoughts running a muck in your sensitive mind. Staring at your bland bedroom ceiling, you recalled what Jaesoo had said to you.

"Well...all you can really do now is forget Donghyun and apologise to Jeno and Jisung,"

"...But, how do I apologise? It would be rude just to say sorry, i need to do more"

"Well... what do they like?"

Hours before you had considered making them let you go. But how could they let you go, if you didn't want to let them go. Specifically, Jisung.

Lifting yourself out of your soft blankets and putting on your slippers, you went and stood on the outside verandah (platform outside house, either on ground floor or 1st floor, etc.) Feeling the cold night breeze on your indigo sweater. You let yourself breathe and think in dept. Your brother was right. Forget Donghyun and get Jeno and Jisung back. Gripping onto the verendah's fence - your hands turning slightly pale from the cold - you still couldn't let the guilt inside you go. You did such horrible things to them. Was it even possible to get them back?

Walking back inside, you headed to the kitchen where you had a cup of warm tea that helps you sleep. This benefited your mind and eased the guilt. Finally making up your mind, you decided to apologise to them. Despite if they turned you down, at least you'd feel at ease with your unsettling emotions. Climbing back into bed, you counted sheep.

"1 sheep, 2 sheep, 3 sheep, 4 sheep, 5 sheep...,"

Soon enough you fell asleep.

Brushing the cherry blossom leaves off your backpack, you waited patiently for Jeno on the park bench near your house. You had decided to apologise to them separately.

"I'm here," You heard Jeno's voice and lifted your head to see a sad smile spread across his face. He sat down beside you and stayed silent until you had the courage to speak up.

"Here take this"-

You placed an envelope in the palms of his hands.

"..What is inside?" he questioned.

"It's money... I wanted to repay you for all the car trips you did for me. Petrol is very expensive yet you took me places a lot... I really appreciate it," You explained. Taking a deep breath you prepared for what you were going to say next.

"Not just that but...consider it an apology gift. I understand that I was dumb and stupid for ignoring you and Jisung while thinking Donghyun loved me again which was incredibly stupid. I am really truly sorry and I know that money can't fix my mistake but I wasn't sure what to give you and"-

"Y/n, listen to me,"

Stopping from explaining yourself, you waited patiently for what Jeno had to say.

"I am not mad at you. I know what it is like to want to be loved. The stupid things you get yourself into. I was more worried for you. Since I've been in your shoes,"

Handing the envelope - filled with money - to you, Jeno added:

"You should not be giving this to me nor apologising. Jisung is the one who needs something and...your apology,"

You smiled slightly knowing now Jeno hadn't hated you.

"Still...I want you to have it. I already know what I am giving Jisung," You smiled. He nodded and took back the envelope. Now happier that Jeno didn't hate you, you felt positive things with Jisung were going to go well too.

For the rest of that morning, you and Jeno hung out and had lattes. Enjoying each other's company. Soon, you felt that your life would start feeling normal again. But one thought still lingered, what had happened with Donghyun? There was no doubt he would try and find you, abuse you and demand you back. Now you just hoped when that happened you had everyone you loved on your side.

Once a gloomy sky is now a sky with a glimpse of an orange sun. happiness was going to finally come your way.
