I have no idea if this is true or not, but I've heard that there's an award dedicated to Leelah.
I also hope her parents see how the world cared and respected her more than them. People she never knew of respected her more than them.
I honestly don't know the real significance of a Golden Globe or what it represents (or even when the ceremony is), but I'm glad Leelah gets national public recognition. The cause she lived and died for will be brought into the spotlight, and we'll be a few steps further to equal rights for trans people and an end to conversion therapy.
