"Draco, don't be silly. Of course, I'm fighting" You chide, reaching once again for your wand. Draco - who is currently in possession of said item- just skirts to the side, which nearly sends you tumbling over a chair leg.
"No. You're not." He says it with complete certainty, leaving no room to argue, and the steel in the tone causes your blood to start to boil.
"Draco. I am fighting. You can't stop me." You snap, once again lunging for the wand. This time you can't stop in time, and use your fingers to grab his robe as you tumble, sending him sprawling on the ground beside you. The impact winds him more than you - the unexpectedness of it more than anything - and you use this momentary distraction to scramble for your wand, which had fallen from Draco's hand.
"Yes, I can" It's barely more than a whisper, and if you hadn't been paying such close attention you wouldn't have heard it, but its all the warning you get before Draco clamps his hand around your ankle - stopping you in your tracks. Both of you are now stuck, Draco holding you in place and you by Draco's hand.
You roll over onto your back, glaring at each other for a moment. Obviously, you are going to have to be the reasonable one in this situation.
"Draco. We have trained and prepared for this for years; We all knew it was going to happen eventually. Besides, Harry is my friend and I'm not just going to hand him over on a platter"
Dracos hand tightens around your ankle, not bruising, never bruising, but almost desperate, like he can't bare the idea of letting you go. The subconscious action calms you slightly, your anger cooling, until Draco's jaw locks in determination and he gives you a flinty glare. You recognise the look, its the one he wears when he finds himself doing something he doesn't want to - like cleaning or looking after particularly vicious plants.
"If you fight, I'll break up with you"
You can feel your face fall, shock plastered across your features, as you stare up at your boyfriend. You had gone against him quite a few times, but never, never had he threatened this. Now - had you been in a stable state of mind - you would have realised that this was Draco's way of trying to make sure you stay safe, using your love for him against you, but currently, all you could feel was hurt. Hurt that clogged your throat and churned your stomach, quickly being overpowered by a powerful surge of overwhelming anger.
Draco's waiting for your answer somberly, clearly taking your silence as a sign that you going to submit, and that is the last straw. Kicking your leg out, you manage to dislodge his hand through sheer surprise and dive for your wand. Scrambling to your feet, you avoid Draco's eyes as you hiss out a "fine" before storming out of the room, wand in hand.

You go to sleep in your own bed for the first time in months, missing Draco's warmth and cursing his stubbornness.

"Wake up!" Someone hisses, shaking you violently from your sleep. You swat at their hands, mumbling complaints into your pillow, but they refuse to give up. Blinking your eyes open, you snap upright when you see a very tired and very annoyed Blaise hovering over you. The moment mirrors so many others, and you know instinctively what has happened.
"Draco?"
Blaise nods.
Sighing, you shove on your slippers, getting up to follow Blaise back to his dorm. Neither of you breaks the silence, despite Blaise's obvious curiosity.
Draco is laid in bed, covered in a sheen of sweat, legs tangled in the sheets hanging off the bed and face twisted in mystery. You jog over to his side, immediately cupping his face.
"Draco? Draco, wake up. I'm here, your safe"
Your voice takes a few seconds to cut through his dream, but when it does his eyes slam open and focus on you. He jolts, lurching forward to wrap you in his arms - dragging you fully onto his bed. You arrange yourself so you are comfortable, Draco refusing to release you, and settle in for the night.
You may not have settled your differences, but if Draco needs you, you will be there.
