•the next morning•

carter: wake up wakey wakey*shaking her*
nessa: go away *turns her head away from him*
carter: *starts to cry*
nessa: oh no carter  i'm sorry i didn't mean it *hugs him still half asleep*
carter: you hate me?
nessa: no i don't hate you
carter: what's your name
nessa: i'm nessa
carter: nessa
nessa: yeah
carter: nessa i hungry
nessa: okay let's go make some breakfast
carter: huh?
nessa: breakfast
carter: okay
nessa: *picks him up and takes him downstairs to the kitchen and sits him on the bench* so what do you want to eat?
carter: huh? me don't understand
nessa: food?
carter: yeah
nessa: which one?
carter: *pionts to fruit loops*
nessa: great choice

*roni and aaron come into the kitchen*

roni: so are you going to explain why you have a new "son"
nessa: yeah so i was coming back from nezza's and i saw carter on the side of the road and shortly after i found out his mam kicked him out coz he was too difficult to look after because he has autism ,ADHD and short term memory loss plus he's only 4 year old so he wouldn't of survived *smiles while handing carter his cereal*
roni: aww bless him
nessa: so today... we need to buy him new clothes and toys then go and officially adopt him
aaron: okay we had nothing planned anyway we can come too
nessa: yeah thanks
aaron: hey little buddy do you want to go get some new clothes today?
carter: *looks at him confused*
aaron: do you?
carter: huh?
nessa: i don't think he understands us when we speak in long sentences so try to shorten them down
aaron: okay i'll try
aaron: you want clothes?
carter: me?
aaron: yeah
carter: yeah!
aaron: okay today
carter: yey!
*they go to the shops and buy him new clothes and toys and a bed*

•a couple of hours later•

aaron: do you want us to come with you?
nessa: i don't mind you can if you want
aaron: okay we'll come
Nessa: Carter come on
Carter: no I need piggy
Nessa: piggy's here
Carter: *runs to nessa and gets his teddy then runs to the car*

*in the car*
roni: what's wrong nessa
nessa: nothing *fake smiles*
roni: your lying what's wrong?
nessa: i'm just scared , i'm a single mother living by myself and now i have a kid that has disabilities
roni: but...your going to be a great mom i know it plus me and aaron live next to you if you need anything we are here for you
aaron: she's right
nessa: thanks
carter: where are we going
nessa: to a place that makes me your mommy
carter: you are my mommy already
nessa: not yet carter i have to adopt you
carter: oh adopt?
nessa: yeah
carter: i don't know what that mean
nessa: it's okay you will when your older
aaron: right we are here
roni: are you ready nessa
nessa: yeah

lawyer: so who wants to adopt you two i'm guessing
roni: no
nessa: it's me
lawyer: okay so the children are back here if you want to follow me
nessa: no i mean i want to adopt carter *picks carter up*
lawyer: okay what's your name?
nessa: vanessa merrell
lawyer: and connor did you say
nessa: no carter
lawyer: hmmmmm you name isn't down and we didn't have a carter in here
nessa: i know it's a long story but he's parents kicked him out and i found him on the side of the road like a day ago and i felt bad and so i took him home and now  i want to be his mom
because i love him so much already
carter: i love you too nessa *hugs her*
lawyer: *smiles* i... okay you can adopt him i need you to sign this paper and then he's yours
nessa: okay *hands carter over to aaron and then sign the paper*
carter: i want to do that
lawyer: okay you sign here for me carter
carter: okay *scribbles*
lawyer: *laughs* thank you he is now yours
carter: you my mommy now
nessa: yup
carter: yeyy

*in the car driving back home*

roni: nessa
nessa: yeah
roni: me and aaron noticed when you told the lawyer what happened carter understood you and that was a big sentence
carter: i understand you i just tired
aaron: oh look mc donald's do you want one carter
carter: yeah
aaron: okay do you want chicken nuggets
carter: yeah
aaron: okay
