Also, a reminder, this story kind of takes place in a Japanese cafeteria and an American cafeteria.....because I haven't been to Japan and I'd be really bad at coming up with something that matches the Japanese culture. ;-; But yeah pLeAsE eNjOy.

It was like every other day...

1. Sit alone at lunch

2. Never speak up to anyone, just let your head hang down while you ate your food

3. Leave cafeteria

But today was different. Right as you were unboxing your bento box, a boy sat down directly across from you. You didn't want things to be awkward, so you gave him a quick glance and went back to taking out your chopsticks.

"Hi! I'm Okuyasu Nijimura!" The boy spoke up, extending his hand to shake yours. Reluctantly, you lifted your hand up slightly to shake his hand back. Instead, he gripped it very tightly and gave one hard shake.

You whipped your arm back and rubbed the parts where it hurt. "O-Oh! Sorry, did I hurt you? My mind tends to wander when I meet new people...so, what's your name?" The boy asked. He had two curved lines on either side of his face. His hair reminded you of the fish in your bento box. With a soft laugh, you placed your chopsticks down to answer his question.

"I'm Y/N L/N." you responded, feeling proud of yourself for actually speaking to someone. "It's very nice to meet you, Okuyasu." You gave him another soft smile and picked up your chopsticks to eat your lunch. Okuyasu watched you eat your lunch, not saying anything, just smiling.

Once you realized he was staring at you, your eyes took another glance at him. "Well? Why are you still here?" You asked him, trying not to sound too harsh. He just smiled even bigger and said, "You're really cute when you eat."

This made your face go bright red. 'Wow, that was quick...' You thought to yourself. "O-Oh, did I say that out loud...?" Okuyasu caught himself from saying anything else by slapping his hands over his mouth. "S-Sorry..." He mumbled, sounding muffled behind his hands.

With a small smile, you said, "It's alright!! I was just a little surprised!" The two of you laughed for a bit, then went completely silent.

The cafeteria was especially loud today, and the yelling of the students was starting to make your ears ring. "Hey, do you wanna go somewhere quiet to eat?" Okuyasu asked.

"Sure, what did you have in mind?" You questioned.

"Well, let's go to the hill on the back of the school. We just have to be quiet so teachers don't think we're doing anything bad!" He responded with a wink. You laughed at his answer and the two of you left the cafeteria.

You and Okuyasu laid on the hill, staring at the clouds. Both of you already finished your lunches, and there were still a few minutes until the next class. 

It was much quieter out here. All you heard was the birds chirping and the soft, cool wind passing by. "Oi, Y/N..." Okuyasu whispered. You turned your head to the side to look at Okuyasu. 

"Yeah?" 

"That cloud looks like you...the cane shaped one..." 

You looked up at the sky to see a cloud in the shape of a candy cane. "What? That looks nothing like me!" You playfully yell-whispered back.

"Really? Well, I guess it's because you're so sweet, I couldn't tell if it was a piece of candy or you..." He whispered with a huge grin on his face.

"That was...an interesting compliment..." You responded, starting to sit up.

"Aw man, I'll try harder next time." He responded, sitting up right after you did.

You looked into Okuyasu's caring eyes. They were very pretty too, a sweet chocolate brown. Before you knew it, your hands had already touched each other, slowly lacing fingers together. You both blushed, noticing the connection you were feeling. 

"Oi, Oku, what are you doing with a girl?" You heard a boy yell from behind. 

When you turned around, you saw a very tall boy with a pompadour hairstyle and a much shorter boy with spikey grey hair approaching the two of you. "J-Josuke! Koichi! What are you doing out here??" Okuyasu yelled back. 

"Okuyasu-Kun....do you have a girlfriend..?" The shorter one asked, cocking his head to the side in confusion. You looked over at Okuyasu, not knowing what his response would be. "I-I..uh..well no...um..." He stuttered.

"Yes." You responded.

All three boys stared at you with wide eyes. "W-What?" Okuyasu asked.

"Okuyasu, you are the sweetest person I've met all year. I want to be your girlfriend." You couldn't believe the words that were coming out of your mouth. A boyfriend?? Already??

Okuyasu face lit up with joy as he pulled you in for a kiss. The two of you sat there kissing as the tall pompadour kid looked at you with disgust, and the shorter kid rocked back and forth with a smile on his face, happy for his friend.
