[ Tiso x Reader ]

The outskirts of the Hallownest were unforgiving and cruel, one wrong step and next thing you know you're being crushed to death by a giant hopper. This was why a certain bug preferred to stay in the skies, hopping from platform to platform, yet even then they were not safe, for primal aspids that hover in the still air are known for their cruel nature and wouldn't hesitate to kill anything on sight. The short bug was scowering the lands for a rare metal known as Pale ore. It is known to be the perfect material for forging weapons and this little bug in particular was in need of an upgrade. Their nail was cracked and broken, it was only a matter of time before it shattered. It was also completely blunt, dealing near to no damage to the bug's enemies when in combat. So far they had only been able to come across one piece of the rare metal, which certainly wasn't enough to repair their nail from its damaged state.

The bug landed on one of the many floating platforms and looked above. The Colosseum was calling them, the roaring of the crowd, the war cries of the fighters and the clashing of weapons could be heard for miles. However, this bug was much smarter than the others that foolishly wandered into the Colosseum, unknowing of the dangers lurking within. The bug knew that they would surely be killed, with their broken nail and feeble fighting abilities. They could clearly see what would be made of them by simply looking at their surroundings, the corpses of fallen warriors were more than enough to keep the bug from daring to enter the Colosseum. Primal aspids picked at their bodies and hoppers nestled inside the corpses for warmth. Some would call this disgusting, gruesome if you will, but any sane bug would do this in order to survive.

Just as the bug was about to leap over to another platform, they caught a glimpse of a fallen warrior. Now, the bug would have just carried on their not-so-merry way, if it wasn't for one small detail, the warrior was breathing. The short bug leaped over to the platform on which the living warrior lay upon, life slowly fleeting from his body. He was dying, tears could be seen in his blue hood and dents could be seen in his armour. One noticeable feature was the gaping hole in his arm, a vibrant orange liquid oozed out of it, slowly dripping onto the snow covered platform beneath him. The short bug took pity on this fighter, but was also weary. This was someone who fought in the Colosseum, and anybody who is aware of the Colosseum's existence knows that it is an unforgiving and ruthless place. For this bug to still be breathing proved that he was a far stronger warrior than the rest.

The short bug took their decision into consideration, should they leave this warrior to meet his cruel, cold end to be forgotten on the edge of this falling kingdom or should they take him back to their home to heal and recover? As the bug stood there, staring blankly at the freezing fighter, he shifted. He began to slowly open his eyes, struggling to even turn his head to look at the short bug. The bug looked down at him, taking pity on his injured state. They sighed, bending down to pick up the warrior in their arms. He was surprisingly quite light, they expected him to be heavier seeing his armoured body. The warrior slowly turned to look at the bug's face and let out a series of raspy noises. Some would say it sounded as if he was pleading to be left alone, to die in the snow, to let him finally rest, for his goal had been completed, to fight in the Colosseum. Yet the short bug took no notice of his soft cries, for they were already making their way back to the grand City of Tears.

I love Hollow Knight. It's probably my favourite game and I rarely see any Tiso x Readers so I just said "fuck it" and wrote this. This was actually really fun to write, I loved the idea of Tiso possibly still being alive and so I decided to incorporate that idea into this oneshot. If you haven't played Hollow Knight, I couldn't recommend it enough to you. It's really fun and there's tons to do and explore in it, so play it if you haven't. I'm probably gonna make a part 2 but I'm just gonna publish this for now just cus i really needa update this book. If you see any errors, please tell me! I'll edit them as soon as I can. Thanks for reading.
