Here I sat on the floor as I had slid down the island wall, Carlisle said "Mads come on say something, anything" he was kneeling in front of me. I said "how am I gonna protect him? Vampires exist then that means I am not equipped to protect my own son, How am I supposed to let him grow up and do things knowing I cannot protect him?" I held my head in my hands, Carlisle pulled me into his arms as Dom ran in, Carlisle grabbed him as well holding us both and said "I will protect you both, forever. neither you nor him will come to any harm, nor will you guys want for nothing."

I leaned against his chest being in his arms felt safe which in itself scared me and said "I cannot ask that of you" I got up escaping his hold grabbed my son and our bags Carlisle stopped me at the door and I said "its not you, or what you are. I just need space, I need to think, Regardless of how much this feels right, or how much I like you this little boy comes first, I cant rush into anything. Mates or not Carlisle give me a week I just need time and I hope you can respect that." I walked out the door and strapped my son into his car seat before getting in and driving home.

I pulled in as Charlie did, I got out getting our bags and went to get Dom but Charlie was already unbuckling him. Charlie said "how was your project?" I said "um good Carlisle brought poster stuff home for us to use. It's almost finished," Charlie said "how do you like the Cullens?" he leaned against my car holding Dom while I said "would have been better if you warned me with how fine that man was" I opened the front door and he said "I'm sorry what?" I said "you heard me" he put Dom down who ran to the kitchen and attacked Bella in hugs.

He said "I was hoping I heard you wrong" I laughed as I walked into he kitchen and said "no that man is a god, I cant even fathom how someone can look that good" Bella said "who is a god?" I said "Dr. Carlisle Cullen, and you know how men look like 100 times sexier with a baby? Well, imagine that in god status when he held Dom. I left I couldn't stay there, I'm not even dating the man, I literally just met him but my heart didn't get the damn memo" Bella laughed and said "I think Edward hates me" Charlie said "Madison you cant date Dr. Cullen, he is too old for you I'm gonna change and then we are going to the diner." He walked out as I said "one I'm not dating him, two Im 18 so it would be legal"

he groaned as he closed his door, Bella and I laughed. He came out and I tossed him my keys saying "I don't want to move his car seat" Charlie said "lets go" Bella strapped Dom in as she sat next to him, Charlie pulled out and said "I know its legal but if you guys dated then eventually married not only would you have Dom but you would be the step mom to kids your age" I said "I realize this dad, like I said I'm not dating him but he said he wants to get to know Dom and Me with the chance of of day dating in the table. I told him to give me a week I need to figure out what I want for Dom, I want too figure out how to get happiness for me while making sure my son is well taken care of. Bell help me out here, ok yes I have a kid, he has five, two are graduating with me, and three are graduating with you. Isn't what's best for Dom being someone who could afford to help me care for him? Carlisle yes is older than me by 7ish years, But he could afford the care a little boy needs. He is a doctor so when Dom becomes a dumb teenage boy he could help that way. I think I like him what if he was the one for me?"

Bella said "don't drag me into this, this decision is yours. Yes he is a father so he would be good around Dom who does need a father figure, and yes being a very good doctor means he could afford a toddler. Mads you need to realize its not all about Dom, yes you have to bring people into your life that is good for him but you also need to be happy" Charlie said "I don't like the idea of you dating him or anyone because no one is good enough for my daughter, however your sister is right this is your decision, and I know you will do what is best for you and your son"

We pulled into the diner and got out, Dom grabbed my dress like he is supposed to and we went inside and ate. After dinner I bathed him and put him to bed. The next week went by fast, I sat with the Cullens during class but at lunch Dom and I sat by ourselves. The whole family was respectful of the week I needed to think. Sunday night came too fast and after dinner that I night I sat Dom on his bed and said "baby boy I need you to tell me something" he said "what mommy?" I said "do you like Carlisle?" he said "he is nice" I said "baby what if mommy dated Carlisle" he said "like he will be my daddy?" I said "um sort of he would help mommy take care of you and love you, how do you feel about that?"
