All the girls dressed me up in Biker style, red and a leather jacket, I went on the beach with red stilettos, "What's up Elvis?" Brady puts his hands on my waist, "Hey frat boy. How did last night go?" I lean my head on his chest, "So cool being one of those guys, even for a night you know? They look out for each other. Nice poofy hair." He chuckles and pets the poof of teased hair on top of my head, "It's gonna be a nightmare to get out, and, I couldn't get Lela to talk about Tanner. I don't think we're any closer than we were before." I pull his hands down from my head, "Not really, no." He kisses my forehead, "But what if we can't get them together? We could be stuck here forever." I look up at him, "Would it be so bad?" He smiles, "Yes. Every minute that I'm here is another minute that I'm not doing what my mum wanted." I fiddle with my fingers, "Every minute that we're here, we're together," He holds my hands, "Besides, when will we get another chance to be in a movie? Like, actually in a movie. Come on Bunny, what's your hurry to grow up and leave?" Brady clasps our hands together, "Everyone's counting on me too." I look down, "Do you really want to?" Brady asks, "I thought you understood," I laughed and walked away from him, "I do," He holds my arm, "Well then help me get home." I sniffed, "Fine. Maybe we just need to get Lela and Tanner to spend more time with each other without peer pressure." Brady strokes my arms, "So they get to know each other as people and not just rivals." I nod, "Right, and how are we gonna do that?" He asks, "I don't know, but I'm not going to stop until I figure it out." I look up, "Look, I'm sorry I made you cry," He hugs me, "I dunno what you're saying, I'm not crying." I felt my voice crack, "Yeah I know what girls like, girls like boys like me." He hums quietly, I giggled, "I do like this boy." I kissed his chin, "There's only one girl that's on my list." He sings, "I wuv you." I say into his shoulder, "Wuv you too." He chuckles.
I went out surfing with Tanner, "Cowabunga!" He chuckles, "Cowabunga..." I forced a laugh and surfed in front of him, I had my hair back in it's normal high ponytail and I was in my bikini and sundress, "I've never been neaten on the waves before. Especially not by a girl." We were walking back on the beach, "Well I think that girls can do anything guys can do." I nod, "Well if I was gonna think something right now. I think that people aren't always what I think." He holds the branch of a tree, "Does that go for Bikers too?" I look at him, "Truth is, Bikers aren't that bad. They just want the same thing we want. We just want it better." He smirks, "So why all the conflict between you?" I ask, "I dunno. It's sort of what everyone expects. Like, it's the way it's always been I guess." He looks down, "It's like your heart's telling you one thing, but you feel like you have to do something else." I look off, "Yeah, I feel like, it's just the something else that always gets in the way." He looks up, "You know, you're a pretty smart guy." I smile, "Yeah, but more pretty." He chuckles and walks off, "I take that back," I smile to myself.
At night, I was at Lela's, she was doing my hair at her vanity, "Are you okay?" She looks at me, "Yeah. Yeah, I'm just homesick," I smiled, "Oh no, is it the decor? I..." She tries to take stuff down, "No, no, no. I'm not sick of your home, I'm just... How are things with you and Brady?" I clear my throat and change the subject, "Good, I guess." She perks up, "How are things with you and Tanner?" She brushes my hair, "Good, I guess," I copy her reply, "You know, sometimes I think that boys don't tell us what they're thinking. Just because telling us would involve more thinking. But they make up for it, by being cute." She smiles, "And boys." She giggles, I laugh, "Hey, that's a really pretty necklace," I saw in the reflection of the mirror, "It's Hawaiian, it means friendship forever. Like us now!" She gasps, we both giggle, "You know, you're not at all what I thought you'd be." I shook my head, "Yeah, I'm not as much like me as people think." She smiles, "You know it's funny, I feel like I could tell you anything." She looks at me, "Yeah, I know. I does feel like that doesn't it?" I smile, "I have a secret I've never told anybody." She takes a breath in, "well you can tell me if you want. I mean friendship forever right?" I laughed, "Okay, okay!" She pulls me after her onto her bed, "Ready?" We both sat down and I nod, "I wanna surf." She breathes out, "Surf?" I was shocked, she nods, "Cool." I smile, "I mean like a pro! It's absolutely insane, I know and if my brother ever found out, he's blow a gasket. Plus no girl has ever surfed like a boy before. I mean until you but that's what I wanna do. It's crazy huh?" She says quickly, "Lela. Never let anyone tell you what you can and can't do in life." I hold her hand, "But... how do I do that?" She asks, "It's not always easy. Believe me but..." I take a breath in, "So you think I should surf?" She asks, "You definitely should. You know what? Brady would even teach you! I mean, he taught me everything I know, and I'm a pretty great surfer right?" I chuckled, "You really think he would do that?" She looked so happy, "Yeah! I mean it's the perfect plan! I'll set it up." I smiles, she reaches over and hugs me.
