Stressing over the mundane is my favorite hobby
I cry over what is normal and panic over what is constant
I learn to hide my feelings and I become scared of the phrase
"Are you okay?"
Today my co-worker said,
"I'm here for you," and I cried and said just what was on my mind in that moment
Here is what was on my mind-
I feel alone in an iron cast
I find myself scared over the things that everyone else can do
I'm struggling to complete work and complete it well
I've been told five times this week
"You are an awful person"
And if I hear it one more time I might scream
I'm falling away from what I once was
And I'm becoming something I don't know
Everything is a chore and I can't do this anymore-
My co-worker paused...took a breath and said
"You can do anything, anything Mal, you can change the world. Breath you got this."
But boy do I feel just mundane.
