Part 15

A week has passed since my glorious result. Everything was going on fine until one day grandma come to me.

"Honey, busy? I made you some ramen." She put it on my study table carefully where I was actually talking to my bestie as she got a offer from a modelling agency. She's super excited.

"Sun-hye, let's talk later tomorrow. Let's hang out okay, bye. Toodles." I ended the call and turned my chair to my bed where grandma was sitting for a while.

"Speak. I know you're here to talk about something serious," I said as I could read her facial expressions.

"Actually, I wanted to say something to you." She said with sick smile which made my hurt clenched. She's so glorious when she smile but today it's saying something else. I kept looking into her eyes for answers

"I was diagnosed with stomach cancer a few months ago." She stopped as she saw my shot opened eyes.

"And.....and...you're telling me now," I burst out crying," I can't afford to loose anymore." I spelled while hugging her tightly and sobbing.

"Doctors said after tomorrow's surgery I'll be surely fine." She faked a smile pulling me away.

"You're going to be operated tomorrow!?!?" I looked at her with shock.

"Hmm, don't cry, I'll be fine and you've to be my guardian as I don't wanna involve my bastard son in our beautiful life."

"I.... I'll be there with you," I sniffled.

"OKAY, Then. Go to sleep. No no eat the ramen then have a walk outside then sleep. Or you'll look like a dumpling in before those handsome doctors at the hospital." She joked.

"Halmoni!!!!"(Grandma) I screamed.

"I wanted to do it after hearing your results but I think I have to get it done by tomorrow. My health is not supporting anymore," She sighed.

"Take this. It's my present for you. I hope you will like it." She handed me a small black velvet box.

"Halmoni!!" I looked at her as she gifted me a very beautiful but expensive necklace.

"Don't think to return. Wear this as my blessing. I have spent a lot of money to get my precious Granddaughter a precious necklace."

"Okay," I nodded as I couldn't refuse her anymore.

I wore it and it's really beautiful and pretty.

"Keep this always with you." She peeked in the mirror from my back.

I begged her to sleep with me because somewhere in my heart is still aching with a feeling that it's going to be a bad day tomorrow.
Speaking of which Mr. Kim has went to USA for attending something important with his dad.

The doctors took grandma in the operation room after some check ups. I was eagerly waiting at the waiting area for my grandma to come out with her bright smile. It's so hard to be loved by someone and grandma is the only person who loves me wholeheartedly without any payback.
