"Hello, my loves," a girl said into a video camera, "Today's video is a dance video for "Wings" by Little Mix. This girl just happens to be a famous YouTuber by the name of MoMo. Not the flying monkey for Avatar, the last air bender, or peach as momo means peach in Japanese. The girl may be new to the YouTube world but became popular faster than anyone could've thought. She is best known to her friends and family as Moesha. This girl just so happens to be me.
Being a YouTuber is harder than most people think. Not to mention, it can get expensive with having to buy props and clothes for certain videos.
I finished editing my new video when my mom snapped me out of my daze. Both of us went to the car and drove to the school that I would be going to. As we were driving, I flipped the mirror down and started fixing my makeup. We pulled to the school and met up with my new guidance counselor to get my schedule.
"Mom, I'm going to be okay," I told my mother as we walked out of the guidance office of my new school. Going to a new school can be one of the hardest things a girl can do. "You just have a good day." my mom told me. I was walked to my second class of the day by the guidance counselor.
I had had biology but I wasn't expecting the class to be full of freshmen. The teacher had me see in the back of the class and I was happy. Not only was I in the back and I didn't have to sit with anyone. I noticed what they were working on was something I had already learned at my old school. So I told the teacher and she gave me a paper to see if I was telling the truth. I finished it in five minutes and he let me not do any work from the class.
It was still another hour of class so I went to work on editing my new video. It's going to be about my move and my new school. It was a good time that I packed my Macbook. I was halfway through the editing when the bell rang. I was quick to leave the classroom so none of the other students recognize me.
I had Spanish as my next class of the day. I walked into that Spanish class. I wasn't ready for it, well I was ready for the Spanish. Not meeting new people, biology was already confusing because I was the oldest one in there. I walked into my class and one kid saw me and said "Hey, there's a new kid"
The teacher quickly greeted me and was very nice. She was going to introduce me in Spanish but I told her I could do it myself. I talked about how I love to sing, dance, and make videos. Also that I liked to read and write. She sat me next to a boy. This boy was different. For one he didn't have a textbook. On top of that, he didn't have his notebook out either. It was a Sketchbook, he was working on so I peeped over to look at what he was drawing. It was awesome fashion design.
I don't even know who a guy could even draw like that. It was so cool and the design seemed like it was for a girl. He noticed me looking at his designs and asked "What do you think?"
I noticed it was a shirt but I thought maybe this could be a dress. So I told him to hand me a pencil and I went to work. I did a little bit of editing to it and turned it into a nice little dress with a pretty, long train. He was like it was supposed to be a shirt. "Well I think it should be a dress, it looks better that way, you made the design look like it should curve a person's body." "'Well then you know your stuff."
"I am a girl and fashion is one of my hobbies," I said when I was introduced to me.
"Alright then." He said " Luca" He held his hand out to shake mine.
"Moesha," I said as I shook his hand.
"Well Moesha, what brings you here?"
"Well, I moved here during the summer."
"Cool." Luca said, "So what's your schedule here?"
"I didn't go to my first class today. We kinda arrived after the first period."
"It's alright, my last class of the day is near yours. I'll walk you"
"thanks. So hey, when is lunch because I heard it's during this period"
"don't worry you'll know when the bell rings."
I talked to Luka and he told me how he wanted to be a fashion designer. I told him that I wanted to be a doctor. He said it was cool. I was humming as two of us walking to the lunchroom and what I didn't know these girls heard me humming and said hey, can you sing what you're humming. I was confused but I did it.
"I know I've heard your voice before," one of the girls said. "I know you look familiar," another one of the girls kept saying.
"Yeah, I get that a lot."
"Oh my God, you're Mo Mo like the You Tuber who sings and dances?"
"Yeah, that's me."
"Oh my God, I love your videos. I didn't know you transferred here or that you even moved."
"Yeah, that's just waiting to make the video about it after school today."
"Please don't make a big fuss out of it. I am not a celebrity."
"You kind of are, you're a teen sensation. You're the next Beyoncé or Rihanna."
"I'm nowhere near that."
"you're one of the best dancers on YouTube and one of the best singers."
"Thank you. Now. I just want to go get some lunch."
"Oh, I'm sorry to bother you." The group of girls went away and Luca looked at me.
"you're a YouTuber."
"Yes, I am. Is there a problem with that?"
"No"
