Izuku stared absently as his homeroom teacher lectured the class on history he had studied years before on repeat. You'd think the school system would want kids to learn practical and useful things. Yet, they always dragged out singular portions of subjects to last years without building off of it.
Izuku had dealt with his mother before he went to school, filling her in on the necessary details of what occurred the night before with only one central exclusion. In true Midoriya fashion, she had fretted for a few minutes asking if he was okay and if he was well enough to go to school. Her son had shaken his head profusely and assured her he would be fine.
The bell rang as the clock behind him ticked for the twenty-five thousand two-hundredth times. Yes, he had been counting. It was impossible not to; the damn thing caused him a headache; it was so loud.
Of course, this wasn't the case to anyone except Izuku. His senses had been on fire since he woke up. He could feel every stare he accumulated walking through the halls-every whisper of quirkless and useless stinging his ears.
As he packed up his things, he couldn't help but wonder if guns were an option for support gear. He quickly dismissed this idea, however, due to Japan's gun laws. Yes, snipe was able to, but he only used rubber bullets in most cases, and it applied to his quirk. Actually, he might have some sort of loophole.
Either way, it was too early for him to start thinking about any of this. he didn't even have proper training, not to mention he would have to get into UA first.
Toshinori had canceled training for the day, claiming that Izuku needed time to recuperate, not that the boy minded the free day.
Once home, Izuku made his way up to his room and collapsed onto the bed. Much to his disappointment, he had finished all his homework and was out of things to distract himself. His mind kept probing at the idea of shooting again.
He ran a hand down his face and stared up at the ceiling contemplating his next moves.
With hesitance, he pulled his phone out of his pocket. He opened up an audiobook app to download a copy of the NRA Basics To Pistol Shooting. he figured that a pistol would be the most practical despite legalities. To start out with, Izuku would buy an UMAREX XBG .177 BB GUN that was advertised at the nearest shop. Luckily for him, Japan allowed airpower guns.
All that he would have to do is swing by a soft air store in the nearest district and scrounge up five thousand yen. He'd take a nap and wait for his mom to leave before he went out.
--
His alarm went off, waking him with a startle. The boy fumbled his phone off of the nightstand and quickly hit the end timer button. He let out a huff of air and eased himself out of bed.
He cocked an eyebrow at his reflection in the mirror and ran a hand through his hair in an attempt to make himself more presentable. He quickly realized that his attempts were futile and settled on wearing a hoodie. after all, there wasn't anything that said suspicious about a kid in a hoodie walking around at night.
Before leaving, Izuku grabbed his wallet that almost never left its location under his bed. He shoved the wallet into his pocket and made his way out the door.
The coolness of the outside air hit him, sending a shiver through him. he shook the feeling off and continued on into the practically empty street until he was at the shop. Then he remembered a severe issue; he wasn't an adult. He couldn't purchase a weapon without an ID. Then again, this was a sketchy area of town that would sell to anyone...hopefully.
Izuku took a deep breath and opened the door of the shop: the bells jingling almost spooked the boy. The man behind the counter seemed to wake from a nap. he was thin and tall with graying hair. He ran a hand over his face and shifted to sit straight up in his seat.
Izuku made his way to one of the isles of the shop and grabbed a box of 12-gram CO2 cartridges along with a thing of .177 caliber steel BBs. he then made his way to the back of the store and grabbed the UMAREX XBG .177 he had set his eye on.
When he put the items on the counter to be rung up, the man didn't as much as bat an eye. The Lazily scanned the items and told Izuku his total of 4,860 yen. Izuku handed over the cash and said the man a quick thank you before grabbing the bag with his newly acquired firearm and walking out.
He quickly returned home, put the bag under his bed, took off the hoodie, and slunk back into bed. Whatever path he started, there wasn't going to any take-backs now. What was done was done.
