Chapter nineteen: Halloween

3 years had passed and I was now 22 and best friends with Rae, I visited Jake three times a week and sat beside him sometimes in silence, sometimes crying, sometimes just talking to him. I was back at Lora's house and changed up my look by a lot, I went back to dark clothing and hated myself a lot, I blamed myself for what happened to Jake, if only I didn't go with Rae, if I didn't go inside the trampoline park.

I slipped on my favorite choker, changed into my clothes and walked downstairs to the kitchen.

It was the three days before Halloween and Rae and I had matching outfits but what happened next changed my life.

I came downstairs to hear a car pull up, I thought it was just either Lora or Rae pulling up the driveway and I was half right.

I came outside to see Lora get out and smile as she comes up to me. I put my hand behind my back and stand on my tippy toes and go back down.

"Did you go see Jake?" I ask her.

She nods and looks back at the car as I hear the car door open and close. I tilt my head slightly and look past Lora l to see... Jake! I cover my mouth and almost start crying, I thought he'd never see him up and moving.

He looks at me then passes by like he doesn't even know me. My eyes go wide as it broke my heart. I watched as he went up the stairs.

"I'm sorry Y/n... but I have to kick you out, he won't stay here if you're here." She says looking down but sternly.

Tears started to form as I rushed upstairs. I went into Jake's room where he was sitting on the bean bag chair he watched as I gathered my things.

I looked at him as tears started to flow, "after 3 years of waiting for you... you want nothing to do with me. Thanks Jake, for everything..." I say as I grab my bag and run downstairs and put the door. I got into my car and sped off towards LA.

After 21 hours of nonstop driving expect for bathroom and food breaks. I had cried 3/4th of the way here. I pulled up to my moms house, parked grabbed all my stuff and knocked on the door.

"Hel- Y/n!" My mother said as she hugged me tightly. She let me in and I explained everything... I cried almost all the way through it.

I looked down as I told her the end as tears fell once again. She hugs me tightly and doesn't let go for a while as I cried harshly.

A few hours passed and I was now on call with Rae he was helping me with some college homework when I passed out a few minutes later.

~Rae POV~

I was explaining a question while looking at my computer when I heard nothing at all, I looked at my phone and saw the cute girl I fell in love with asleep. I smiled lightly and played on my computer until I decided to head towards where Y/n was staying, I stayed on call the entire time I drove to her moms house.

After 20 hours passed I pulled up in her drive way as she talked to me, "hey I'm at my friends house so I'll call you back later okay?" I said smirking.

"Okay?" She said questionably

I rung the doorbell to her house and I heard running and the door opened she covered her mouth and jumped into my arms. I twirled her around in a circle and then put her down laughing a bit.

"What are you doing here?!" She said excitedly.

"We have Halloween plans remember N/n?"

She smiles brightly and led me inside upstairs to a bed room. She went to the closet and took out her Halloween costume.

I chuckled slightly as she put out another outfit which I assumed was mine.

She ran out of the room, "change in there!" She said as she left.

I smiled lightly as I changed and went downstairs into the kitchen.

"Hello there! Don't you look cute, you must be Rae." A elderly lady said to me.

"Yeah that's me!" I said smiling.

~Y/n POV~

I changed, did my makeup and went downstairs to my mom talking with Rae.

"Hey loser, you ready?" I say laughing he looks back at me and smiles

"Sure am N/n." He said

We got into Rae's car as we drove to get his siblings to take them trick or treating with us.
