seokjin x reader, slice of life au, husband!seokjin. fluff - implications of smut

As far as days went, you'd had quite possibly the worst in your history.

If it wasn't the traffic making you late for work, or customers being rude, or your heel breaking off halfway to the deli across the street during your lunch hour, it was something else ruining your day and pushing you into a sour mood. If you didn't know better, you would have thought someone was out to get you with the amount of bad luck you'd had over the past eight hours of your work day, and now you were once again battling the onslaught of traffic on the way home. The road piled with cars on cars, each filled with someone just as eager as you to get home and sleep. It was that thought alone that prevented you from slamming your hand onto the horn and pulling your hair out in frustration.

Only just.

The weather also didn't help your situation; the rain hammering down on the roof of your car only reminding you of the fact that dozens more people would be on the road, choosing to take public transport or taxis to prevent walking home. Even in the densely populated city you lived in, somehow there always seemed to be a steady flow of traffic instead of the standstill you were currently in. It only succeeded in forcing another groan from you as you lay back against your seat, blinking against the bright red lights of the traffic in front of you. Your windshield wipers worked hard against the rain, and you were only just able to make out the light turning green as the traffic began to very slowly creep along, cars escaping across the intersection before, of course, you were stopped by another red light hovering above your head. Taunting you, reminding you that you wouldn't get home for another half hour at least.

The screen on your dashboard flashed up, snatching your attention as you caught sight of another text from your husband, Seokjin.

Jin❤: hey sweetheart, are you almost home?

Despite everything, you smiled, because you always did where your husband was concerned. Seokjin was the only person that kept you sane, and in moments like this, it was when you needed him most. A little ray of light to remind you not to plough your Prius through the cars ahead of you in a rage.

You: it'll be a while :( traffic buildup in the city

You: have you cooked? Please don't wait for me to get home before you eat. I don't want you to be hungry :(

The light turned green, and you lurched forward, turning the corner into a road that still held more traffic than you would like, but seemed to be steadily chugging along. Perhaps you wouldn't be home too late after all.

Jin❤: :(

Jin❤: but i wanna eat with you

Jin❤: i'm not that hungry yet anyways. hope you're home soon. miss you :(

Seokjin was incredibly needy for your attention on the weekends. When Friday night hit, he became your baby, eager to cuddle up to you and spend an evening on the sofa watching whatever trash TV show the two of you could find. Then, the two of you would spend hours making love and talking in bed before you finally fell asleep, ready to dream your Saturday morning away together.

It was the only thing that had kept you going all day, knowing that once 5PM rolled around, you could leave the office and run straight into the arms of your perfect husband. It had been that way almost since the day you met Seokjin during your final year of college.

Seokjin had been working at the fast food joint near campus when you walked in looking for the bag your best friend had left there a few moments previously. Jin had kept it safe, returning it to you with his signature smile and a blush across the apples of his cheeks. It didn't take long for you to become smitten with him, and you forced your best friend to visit the place he worked whenever you could, too shy to go alone. After the sixth perfectly timed run-in, Seokjin asked for your number, and since then you had been inseparable. Married almost as soon as graduation hit, your family thought perhaps it had been too soon, but it didn't feel that way. Marrying your best friend felt like the most natural thing in the world, and now, five years later, you were still as happy as you had been that day.
