...Baby Waits for Johnny

Johnny felt weird today.

He woke up at his usual time, got all he needed to do completed before Lisa got there to take care of Taeil. Got Taeil's stuff ready as the younger slept peacefully. His dolls, snacks, clothes, medication, and just everything Johnny thought would be needed so Lisa didn't have to search too hard for anything.

But it didn't matter how prepared Johnny felt to leave Taeil with Lisa, he still felt like he was forgetting something. And, not to make it seem like he's overreacting, but, after forgetting Taeil's night light for the longest while, it still scarred Johnny in some way or form.

So he wouldn't allow himself to be put in a position where he'd forget something important for the younger again. With that being said, the elder felt like he was being rather paranoid so he left everything he's done at that.

Is this what it feels like to be a whole parent?

Sighing, Johnny stands at Taeil's room door and watched him sleep for what felt like a short while. He looks at peace with his thump in his mouth, curly hair messy and his plushie glued to his side. His princess blanket was still tightly tucked to Taeil's body and Johnny finds it so cute that he takes a picture.

He took a picture like a proud father and Johnny shivers at the though before he hears the ringing of the doorbell and he uses that as his cue to leave, closing Taeil's room door as he did. How he got his phone in his hand is beyond him.

And that's how he left them that morning. His first morning away from Taeil since he moved in and he genuinely felt weird. Light, but weird. Two weeks was enough for him to get into a routine hopefully it takes less time to get out or into another another one.

"My contact number is on the refrigerator, call me if anything is wrong or you're having any problems. And Taeil is supposed to eat by 8-9 ish. Don't forget his medication. My home office is off limits, so don't let him pout his way in there. He's rather convincing if you let him. Everything else is printed out on the coffee table just.. be careful." Johnny finishes, standing outside the door and Lisa inside.

Bright smile and positive energy radiating off of her body, she reassures him. "Yes, sir. I'll be very careful. Have a great day Mr. Seo!" She waves.

With a small smile, Johnny turns away with his briefcase in hand, coat in his arm and legs leading him to the parking lot still worried about the outcome of his absences.

"And, Jaehyunnie, you promise we make pink cookies today so don' foget!" Taeyong demands over video call with Jaehyun, index finger pointing accusatory at the older. 

"Mhm." Jaehyun hums, his eyes glued to his computer screen.

"And.. and, and we need white and strawberry chocolate chips so you buy! Okay?" Taeyong makes yet another demand, knowing full well he'll get it.

"Of course, princess." Jaehyun answers distracted.

Beaming, Taeyong bounces in his place at the sofa where he sat back at Jaehyun's house. "Okay, byeeeee! Have fun at work. Taeyongie wait for you." Taeyong waves and as soon as Jaehyun waves back, turning away from his monitor screen to give him a little smile, the younger kisses the screen, hangs up and Jaehyun sighs.

"Jaehyunnie?" Johnny comments, repeating what he heard upon entering the latter's office, kiddish smile on his lips as he drops some files on Jaehyun's desk.

Chuckling, he goes back to working on his computer, putting his phone in the desk drawer. "Yea. He full on dropped the hyung now. He feels more like a wife sometimes and I blame all those cartoons he watches with princesses and queens.. you should have heard him this morning before I left."
