* hello! hows everyone doing thank you for all the support on the first chapter i'm glad to here you guys are liking my story so far! i've had a crazy ton of homework lately so i apologize fir the slow update! but i hope you guys like this next chapter and be sure to let me know at the end, enjoy ;)

2 weeks into the job and you're loving it. Morgan's starting teasing you, Reid seems super sweet and you've already started becoming close friends. You've noticed Hotch's seems to always be watching you and Spence, but you never really question it. Garcia you and Emily have already gone on 2 brunch dates and you've even already helped solve a case in Oregon. It's a Wednesday when Hotchner makes the announcement.

"Everyone we have a new member joining our team, she will be our media liaison, meaning she will handle finding us new cases and anything media related. She's coming in later today to get settled in, I expect everyone on there best behaviour." with that Hotch retreats back into his office, you turn to the others. "Man that'll be nice, less work for us." Morgan says making everyone laugh. "Morgan stop being a lazy ass, you barely do any work as is" Emily says through a chuckle, you smile.

"Hey Spence, I hope the new girls nice, what do you think" you say to Spencer softly, he smiles at you, there's something in his eyes. "Hopefully she'll be like you y/n" you blush, Emily and Morgan don't notice. "yeah" you say softly to yourself. "Hey pretty boy, wanna do my paperwork? I'll give ya 5 bucks" Morgan booms to Spencer, everyone sighs. and just like that any mentions of a new agent are gone, the only thing left is those words hanging in your mind "Hopefully she'll be like you y/n" what did he mean?

You all continue to work, with some pauses for Morgan's and Reids banter, of course, but for the most part its an average day. That is until she walks in. The BAU doors open and there to your surprise is the one and only Jennifer (JJ) Jareau, your childhood Best Friend. From diapers to diplomas you guys were unstoppable, that is until you were stopped. Once university rolled around the two of you separated, y/n and JJ broken apart simply cause of stance. But here she is 9 years later and you've somehow managed to end up in the same department in the fucking FBI!

"Jennifer, up here!" you hear Hotch say she follows him u, not even noticing you clearly gaping at her. As soon as she's inside everyone turns to you, confusion clearly written on their faces. "Do you know her" Emily asks. "Yeah we were actually best friends from ages 5-18, until we ended up at different universities and I didn't see her since" Everyone seems shocked, including you. "Wow what a coincidence you'd both end up at the BAU weeks apart. Morgan says "Well statistically speaking the chances of that are-" Reid starts but is quickly cut off by Morgan saying "we get it genius" Emily and Morgan laugh, you shoot Reid an apologetic smile, he nods back.

"Can everyone please come up to the conference room, id like to do introductions: you hear Hotch ask from the top of the stairs. Everyone gets up. As soon as you enter the room you hear "y/n?! wow its been forever!!" JJ exclaims before pulling you into a tight hug. You nervously laugh before softly saying "yeah, its good to see you too JJ". you pull back only to see Hotch and Rossis surprised faces staring back, everyone else just seems intrigued.

"Well team this is Jennifer Jereau- "Please call me JJ" JJ cuts Hotch off, causing everyone to laugh softly. Hotch smiles slightly before continuing to say "Well team this is JJ our newest member and the new media liaison of the BAU. JJ this is Agents David Rossi, Derek Morgan, Emily Prentiss, Dr Spencer Reid and as you already know her our newest agent y/n l/n". "Its a pleasure to meet you all' JJ says flashing everyone one of her signature smiles. "Emily id like to have you show jj around after this and get her settled in." "You got it captain" Emily says causing everyone to smile as they left the room.

"The new girl seems pretty nice, I can't believe you know her what's she like"? Morgan and Reid ask you as soon as the three of you reach your desks and Emily and JJ are out of earshot. "Well JJ has always had her way with words, I always knew shed end up in media one day. She was the head of the soccer team and basically ra. the school, everyone loved her" you mumble the last part to yourself. "Seems like she'll fit in perfectly with boy oh wonder over there." Morgan says sarcastically causing you to bust out laughing. "I know you're making fun of me" Reid says "Yeah thats kinds the point, nice going genius" Morgan says still laughing, but you stop to look at Reid, he brushes it off and smiles at you, you smile back.

The three of you get back to the paperwork at your desks, but there's a pit in your stomach that wasn't there when you first got here today. What if they like her better? Everyone always liked JJ better she was, funny, pretty, athletic and even smart. You could never compete with that perfect blonde hair and blue eyed charm she had and there she was coming to take your new team away just like she did with everyone else. "Hey y/n wanna come get coffee with me, you look like the paperworks getting to you" you look up to see Spencers concerned face looking back at you, suddenly those dark though disappear, she can't take him. "Sure why not I could use some fresh air" You stand up grabbing your purse just then you hear "Hey don't worry about that it'll be on me" Reid says. One look in those brown eyes and you knew you were gone. "Okay" you smile.

Just as your about to leave you look up at Hotch's office, and meet his gaze, you knew you could feel eyes on the back of your neck and you knew it would probably be him, it always was he always watched you and Spencer interact, but you dismiss it like always. "Come on slow poke we gotta go a little faster than this" Reid says, you take one last look at Hotch's office before turning around and running out the door with Reid to get coffee.

You and Reid come back to the office smiling, coffee in hand you feel 10x better than you did when you left, all cause of him but you'll never tell him that, how could you? The two of you walk back to your desks, Reid hands Morgan the coffee he promised he'd get him. "Thanks pretty boy" "Hey! where's my coffee"? Emily asks pouting you toss a cookie at her she smiles at you "and this is why y/n is my favourite coworker" Emily tells you taking a bite out of her cookie you Burst into laughter everyone following along. "Hey where's JJ" Reid asks, the pit In your stomach returns for a second. "Oh she's in her office, yeah Hotchner gave her an office" Emily points at an empty office you turn to see JJ sitting at the desk setting up her stuff. "Well she is a media liaison she might need her own space" You say chuckling. you look up at Reid to see his reaction but he's still staring up at JJ, your stomach officially plumets, why her?
