I guess I was in sort of a trance cause my mother gave me a worried look.

"Are you okay Percy?" she asked in a worried tone.

"Uhh...yeah I'm fine mom. Thanks for asking."

I turned back to look at the intriguing beautiful blond across the room.

As I gaped at her extraordinary beauty, I felt a hand on my shoulder as music began to play.

"Why don't you go find a pretty girl to dance with," my dad suggested with a sly smile and a wink.

"Dad!" I exclaimed.

His response was a small chuckle.

I got off my throne and slowly advanced across the room to the blond.

She didn't see me, so I tapped on her shoulder.

"W-would you uh like to dance with me?" I stuttered.

She looked at me with wide eyes. I took a closer look at her eyes. They where a startling grey, they looked as if they could pierce your soul.

"Oh your highness. Yes, I would love to dance with you."

I awkwardly took her hand and we waltzed into the dance floor.

We danced for what seemed like hours.

I finally gathered the courage to ask her what her name was.

"My name is Annabeth.  Annabeth Chase."

"Well Annabeth, um, uh, would you mind if we take a stroll in the garden?"

"Oh. Uh... No?"

~ANNABETH~
We walked out of the palace doors and into the garden.

The garden was simply, breath taking.

"Wow." I whispered softly.

"Uh, yea. I hangout here a lot. By myself."

"I can tell why..."

"So... uh you're of noble blood?"

"No... I'm a commoner."

"What do your parents do for a living?"

~PERCY~

Annabeth cringed. I had hit a soft spot.

"My father left when I was born...a-and m-my mother died when I was f-five."

She was on the verge of tears. What do you do when a girl cries? Well, at that moment, I had no idea. So I did what I thought would help, and hugged her while she silently cried.
