“Seth’s missing again”, my brows shot up when I heard Maxx reported as we were gathering on the huge study room. I saw all the familiar faces, more matured as well as their bodies and built. And all looked intimidating and authoritative. I could tell well many things have changed on those years.
“What do you mean missing?”, Sev’s angry voice boomed across the room. It sounded scary but it was weird I did not feel anything like that. Instead, I felt my lips curled into a small smile. I saw Jeff looked my way but averted as fast as he could when my eyes met his.
“Meaning, he went off the radar. Our men can’t find him since last night”, Maxx explained. My mind then went into thinking of ways to kill Seth if I ever see him again. He was really doing everything he wanted.
“How about our trackers?”
“It’s no use. He left everything on his room”, many eyes went to me. I cleared a throat and threw them a sweet smile. Sev then stared at me, too. I felt the all too familiar shiver on my spine up to my nape. I was even afraid it was enough to send my hair up on my head.
“Find him. In any ways. He made a deal with the Romero’s last time and he needs to finish their agreement. It will be a big trouble for us if we piss them off now”, he growled. Like military soldiers, everybody started to empty the room. I stood and ready myself for my turn to leave, too but I was stopped by Sev’s deadpan tone.
“You!”, he thundered. I didn’t know how I knew he was talking to me. I just stopped on my feet. “We are going to talk”
The door closed and we were left alone. With a sigh, I sat back down and looked at my nails. Maybe I was needing another nail polish color.
“Where is he?”, Sev asked.
“I don’t know”, I honestly answered still inspecting my nails like they were the most interesting thing in the world.
It was snatched harshly by his big calloused hands. He gripped it tightly that I winched. “What the—“
“I am talking to you so answer me properly or you’ll regret it!”, he growled like a wild lion on the forest. A little fire of anger flashed inside of me.
“I already told you my answer! If you don’t like it, then it’s not my problem anymore”, I hissed back at him. His face and eyes turned darker that it reminded me a storm ready to crash anything on its way.
“I don’t believe you. Now, be a good little fiancée and tell me where your groom-to-be is?”, the way he said the last words showed clear disgust of it. It made my heart leaped. He squeezed my fingers and I shrieked because it really hurts.
“Let go!”, I pushed my strength into a demanding release. After a second of struggling, he let go. There was no trace of any regret in his eyes. It hurts more than my fingers. But I was not backing down. I massaged my hand gently and glared at him.
“You should tell me what you know”
“Why the hell are you assuming he would tell me anything? He’s your brother might I remind you so maybe he tells you more than me”
“You’re his fiancée he had the guts to be introduced to everyone and that has to be something more of me being his brother so I am sure you know where he went”
I exhaled loudly with all the explosive anger I was feeling.
“And I am telling you… I. DON’T. KNOW”
I marched to the door. I was walking out. I couldn’t stand him. Before I could even reach for the handle, my unhurt hand was pulled with so much force my body followed after it. I was then pushed into the nearest wall with a slight slam. It did not hurt though. I was ready to lash out at him again but he was already raging mad in front of me. His eyes were breathing fire now. He pinned my hand on the wall just beside my head. His face was so close that I could smell him properly.
“You don’t have the right to walk out on me”, his voice was low but it was the one that gave me the real scary feeling. It made me gulp. His face moved even closer. “Don’t act like you have every right because you don’t. You don’t get to disrespect me and you don’t get to raise your voice at me. I could squeeze the life out of you, woman”, he warned. I gasped when I felt his hand slowly travelled from my arms then rest on my throat. “I could just press it on your throat and choke until you gasped for air. Until you gasped for nothing”
“Do it”, I challenged him. If I was going to have Sev back, I have to make him see I am not afraid of him. I felt him driving his hand harder on it. I could feel my airways closing in. He leaned closer.
“Or you want me to do it while pleasuring you”, he whispered on my ear. There was an instant heat on my body. It tingled down to my core. I did not say anything. “Do you want me to touch you now, Alice?”, he asked and I took another invisible gulp.
His other hand left mine and caressed my waist. “Do you want this? Closer? Harder?”
I closed my eyes and fought any fervor starting to crawl in. I cannot lose. No matter how endearing or how tempting his offer was. His hand continued doing wonders on my sides.
I was thinking of my retaliation when he moved away. All contacts were lost. Heat was leaving me, too.
He threw me a mocking sarcastic smirk then turned expressionless. “You cannot leave the house”
He said and walked out on me.
