Anastasia's POV

I looked at the beautiful sky with shimmering stars stuck in the background. The wind howling at the full moon. Little bugs flying around in groups trying to leave no one behind. The roof was so organised ,I just sat on the bench's placed on the inner corner of roof.

" Mi princesa?" I hear a low husky voice startled me from my thoughts.

" Si ?" I turn my head to see Diego in the door frame standing next to me , looking down on me. His eyes were full of regret as he watched me.

It reminded me of the old times. Me and Diego's past. We made a promise that day. " I and you will be forever ever friends, no matter what happens to us". My love for him was like sister brotherly love.

It's quite silly to think about it. Roza and his mother always were friends. His mother was more of mother to me than my own. My mother hated me with everything she had in her . All she cared about was money. My father loved her regardless of her being gold digger .

Him and Mattia became best friends . Nothing could separate them. They were born leaders . They fought by each others side no matter what. Diego used to have a small crush on me when we were around nine but I always seen him as my best friend nothing more. We grew up together.

We never got to say a proper goodbye to each other. He went with Mattia. Mattia trusted him more than anything. They were inseparable. They were the duo that everyone envied.

Mattia made him promise to stay behind to look after me if anything happened to him. It was like he saw the war coming before it happened.

I knew Diego would not let my brother go by himself and will fight by his side till the end . When one goes the other follows . I will tell you one thing. Diego wasn't kidnapped with Mattia . He went willingly. Gave himself the the people who took my brother. He couldn't let Mattia fight his own battle by himself even if it meant getting killed.

" I and you will forever be friends no matter happeneds to us" Diego says placing his hands on my shoulder.

I stood up immediately pulling him into a hug. Fu£k , I missed my best friend so much. I had no one left. I was by myself. This wasn't a normal hug. I was holding on to him for dear life just to know he wouldn't disappear again .

" Why did you have to go with him?" i sniffed through my tears holding him tighter.

" Princesa.. I couldn't live with myself if something happened to him. You know that." He says placing a small peck on my forehead " You need to know that there wasn't a day that went past that we didn't think of you. How do you think we felt living the most important girl in our live behind alone? Mattia was beyond mad when he saw me . He yelled for a few days straight at me for not staying behind for you. Fu£k. I wish I could have been there for both of you"

" I know, D . I know" I sigh knowing I was being selfish. I was beyond thankful that Mattia had someone to be there for him when going through god knows what they did to him.

" Diego. I've missed you so fucking much"

" Me too ,princesa. Me too but we have to move on, we cannot live in the past. It happened. We cannot turn back time even if we tried. You know promise me and Mattia made 'You before us'. You mean the world to us. We couldn't let them take you. However ,who's the handsome man who kept checking if your ok? Boyfriend?" Diego laughs placing his chin on my head.

Before I could even deny , Diego shushes me " Don't you even fuxking dare deny the connection between you two . You can see from a distance how protective over you he is"

" Who?" I say pretending I don't know who.

" Trying to act stupid I see. Come on I know you too well to know your falling for him already. He knows doesn't he? "He asks.

I nod my head in response. It has been a while since I opened up to anyone. It took a lot to do it. I always had trouble expressing my emotions and telling people about my view even as a kid.

" Mattia said their is an army surrounding thisa- " Diego's voice echos in my head. a gun fired into the midnight sky. I was immune to pain after everything I went through as kid . It took me a while to realise I was hit. I was bleeding through my dress. Fuxk, this was an expensive dress. God damn it. I could feel my eyes slowly closing. My vision was getting blurry. I don't remember anything after that. It went all black.

Don't hate me I know it's a short chapter. If your re reading this I know i took out the part of them kissing. It's to complicated . They are not blood related but it mixes in with Nova and Javier so I took it out.
