She rolled over pulling the cover closer to her body as she curled up into herself. It was that moment when you just want to sleep, but too bad that moment was gone when her phone started ringing.
She groaned pressing her face deeper into the pillow to block out the noise. It stopped but before she could sigh and go back to sleep it started again. She moaned like the dead rolling on to her back with her eyes closed.
The ringing had stopped but knowing that it would start again she sat up immediately regretting it when she felt the terrible throbbing in her head. She groaned and moaned like the dead holding her head like it would pop any second.
The ringing of a phone only made it worse for her. She grabbed the phone off of the nightstand sweeping on the screen bring the phone to her ears. She regretted it instantly as the person shouted on the other end.
"Naomi, what the heck?! I've been calling you all morning. I was so worried I thought you were dead and I almost called the cops. What were you doing that you couldn't pick up the phone?!"
She winced with every sentence cussing out Natalie in her mind for making her feel like the dead and waking up to such harsh words in the morning from one of her co-worker.
"Sorry." She whispered knowing anything louder than that would cause her head to explode.
"Sorry?! Naomi if you don't get your butt down here this instance I'm going to kill you." She threatened.
Naomi didn't get a word in before the call ended. She let out another groaned mostly from frustration. I'm going to kill Natalie.
She wanted to finish the painting early this morning but thanks to Natalie for the wonderful night out she got up late adding the beautiful hangover she is sporting right now.
Then she really cursed when she remembers what today meant when she saw the date displaying on her phone screen. "Shit."
She scrambles out of bed as best as she can with her heart constantly beating in her head. Going to the room that she turned into an art room for her paintings and drawing she sat down in front of her unfinished painting.
She thought about the time and what little she did have before she started painting. It isn't exactly the painting she was going for but it would have to do with the time she is working with. She tried to put away her tools as best as she could before running back to her room stripping on the way and jumping into the shower not waiting for the water to warm to a decent temperature.
She jumped out five minutes later dragging the towel all over her body to get dry. Time she didn't have to pick out anything so she grabbed the first clothes her eyes land on.
She pulled them on without a second thought rushing to get the painting while putting on her other shoe. She almost fall on her face but luckily the wall was there to stop her from falling.
She placed the painting carefully in the backseat shutting the door and driving off to her little studio. She parked outside grabbing the painting and going inside. She was immediately greeted by a glaring Jessie. She try to ignore that look going further into the studio with a trailing Jessie.
"I simply can't believe you forgot our opening today coming in at 11 in the morning when you should have been here hours ago to get everything in order and is that the painting you've been talking about. God Naomi you're lucky I'm a good co-worker."
"I said I'm sorry. I overslept," she replied.
"Overslept? You know you owe me right?" Her hand was on her hip her brow raised.
"I know and thank you for everything," Naomi said smiling appreciating Jessie more and more. She was happy that she decided to work with Jessie, she has always been her saviour.
