Alfie's P.O.V
"Marcus! That's not fair, you cheated!" Alfie exclaimed cackling his head back and crossing his arms. He looked down at Marcus's face. He was laughing so hard no sound came from him anymore. His cheeks were bright red from all the laughter and his eyes were shut closed.
Marcus and himself were filming tons of gaming videos for both of their channels. Alfie had finally convinced Marcus to start his own gaming channel so they were playing loads of different kinds of games. So far they had filmed two videos for each channel.
At about three-thirty Marcus began to gather all his belongings. "It was fun man, we should do it again sometime. Maybe next time we can persuade Niomi and Zoe to play some games with us.. eh?" Marcus looked at Alfie with a crooked grin, his eyes were twinkling brightly with amusement.
Alfie looked down and cleared his throat. His words sounded empty and fake, "Yeah, of course." Alfie glanced at Marcus and faked a smile. Marcus stared at Alfie, his brows crunching together with confusion.
Marcus's grin fell and he spoke gently, "Hey, is everything alright? Did I say something wrong? I'm sorry if-" He said but was cut off by Alfie. Alfie shook his head in dismay and looked down. It hurt to even just think about Zoe.
She had pushed him away, when all he wanted to do was help and protect her. He understood Zoe was going through a hard time that day, but the words she had spoken still stung. What if she actually didn't want to be friends with him anymore? What would he do then?
Alfie looked up at Marcus. He had a confused expression plastered on his face. His forehead was lined with wrinkles with worry and his eyes stared deep down into his own. He knew Marcus wanted to hear the truth.
Alfie cleared his throat once again, but even still his voice shook, "N-no, you haven't done anything." He looked up to see Marcus sigh slightly but immediately the confusion returned to his face. "Then was is it Alf?" He spoke soft and clearly.
Alfie sighed and closed his eyes. He didn't know why it was so hard for him to say it, but it just hurt. "A few days ago when Zoe was still in the hospital. S-she was heartbroken, all because of Wilf." Alfie tensed when he called his name. He couldn't believe someone who seemed like a great guy for Zoe could be so cruel.
"She told m-me some pretty hurtful things that morning. Although I know it was the heartbreak speaking for her, it still hurts. I haven't heard from her since. What if she doesn't want to hear about me again? What if our friendship is ruined forever?" Alfie looked down and wiped a tear that had run down his left eye.
Alfie looked up at Marcus's face. He couldn't read the expression on his face. Finally after a period of silence Marcus spoke, "Hey Alf, don't be so hard on yourself. Of course she still wants to be friends with you. She just needs some time to clear up her mind and her feelings. Just give her time, I'm sure she'll come around soon."
Alfie chuckled and smiled weakly at Marcus. He was greatful for such a friend like him. He would never judge Alfie for his choices. (It would have to be a really dumb choice for Marcus to judge Alfie.) Alfie believed every single word that came from his mouth, it made him feel so much better.
"Thanks man. That means alot to hear, thank you." Alfie smiled and patted him on the back. Marcus's smile returned but this time even more sincerely. "That's what friends are for, aren't they?" Alfie grinned and nodded. Marcus reached out and patted him on the back once more.
"Just call me if you ever need anything, you know that Alf." Marcus called out standing by the door, his hand on the knob but his eyes were fixed on Alfie. Alfie smiled gratefully, "Yeah, thank man. See you soon." Marcus nodded and waved and slipped out the door.
