Taehyung was getting irritated.
He sat in his desk chair with an annoyed look on his face. One leg crossed over the other with his elbow resting on the arm of the chair and his cheek resting in his palm. He watched as his phone lit up 5 times per second.
It was Jungkook.
Don't be fooled, he loved the bunny. He might even say he loved him more than anything. But the non-stop texting and calling was getting on his nerves. He understands that the hybrid gets needy and clingy, but this is becoming a problem.
He looked at the clock on his wall ahead of him and saw that he had another hour till he could leave. He sighed and continued to sit there in thought. He had to tell the bunny to let up on the calls and texts, but he didn't want it to come out as if he didn't like getting messages from his lover.
Jungkook is a sensitive being. If he gets upset when Taehyung is around, he hides in the closet or in a spare bedroom across the house. He doesn't like being a burden, he just can't help it sometimes. It's in his genes. He's half fluff and half smarts.
Two things that don't usually go together.
Whilst the blonde waited for the agonizing time to come, his secretary gave him a couple files to go over for his meetings next week. He had a meeting free week this week and he was so grateful.
~ Time skip ~
The blonde set foot into his house and put his things down. He was exhausted and anxious about his talk with his fluff ball of a boyfriend. He made his way to the living room and sat down on the couch with an audible exhale.
It wasn't long before he heard the pitter patter of bare feet on the tile floor.
Jungkook: " Taetae? " he asked softly as he walked in. He saw the exhausted blonde sitting on the couch and couldn't help but feel a bit sad. He wanted to have a fun night with his boyfriend, but that might have to wait till the grocery bags under the blonde's eyes go away.
Taehyung: " Come sit Jungkook. We need to talk. " He said while adjusting his seated position on the plush light grey couch. The hybrid complied and sat next to him.
Taehyung looked the hybrid in his big doe eyes and spoke.
Taehyung: " You need to let up on the calls and texts. " The hybrid frowned softly. Was he saying not to text or call him anynore? Did he not like him anymore or something?
Jungkook: " W-what? " he asked with a slightly hurt expression.
Taehyung: " You don't need to text me all day or call me all the time. I got you the phone for emergencies. " The hybrid still didn't fully understand.
Jungkook: " B-but I thought Tae Tae liked me. You said so! " He said in a hurt voice. The blonde wasn't in the best of moods to deal with this.
Taehyung: " Jungkook, I never said I didn't like you. I just don't want you texting me every 5 seconds. I have other things to worry about too. "
Jungkook: " So I not a worry? You no worry about me? I just a pet to you? " He said with tears stinging his eyes.
Taehyung: " That's not what I'm saying. Will you just listen? Just because I don't want you contacting me all the time doesn't mean I don't like you or worry about you. I just am busy and need to focus. Do you get that? I can't spend every minute of everyday talking to you or running back home to open a jar for you. "
Jungkook was so hurt. He felt like a burden. He didn't want to be a burden. He got up and was going to walk away when Taehyung held his wrist.
Taehyung: " It's rude to walk out of a conversation. "
Jungkook: " Rude to make me upset. " He said in a harsh tone and yanking his hand away. He ran up to the bedroom and hid in the crawl space between the blonde's dresser and a wall. He tucked his knees up to his chest and let out the tears he had been choking down for the past couple of minutes.
He was upset that the blonde thought of him as a distraction. He was upset that wherever he went it seemed like he was a pet. The bunny cried for a good 10 minutes before the blonde finally found him.
Taehyung: " Baby boy, I didn't mean to make you so upset. "
Jungkook: " L-leave alone! You n-no like anymor-re! " The blonde tried to get close but the hybrid flailed his arms and legs around to keep him away. After 4 minutes of useless trying, the blonde gave up and let him have his space. He decided to just shower and sleep in a different bedroom. He figured the bunny could use a bit of his own space for a bit.
~ Next day ~
That morning went by painfully slow. With only 3 hours of work that day but having to go work on a project with Namjoon, he was so ready to go home already and cuddle his boyfriend. Make him feel better and let him know how much he is loved and not a burden.
But alas, adulting must come first. With the majority of his office work time spent doing nothing, he clocked out early and met Namjoon to help him with a project.
Namjoon: " So how's Jungkook? " The taller male asked carefully.
Taehyung: " He actually is upset with me. I asked him he could maybe let up on the constant messaging and calling, but he took that as if I was telling him I didn't like him anymore. I was trying to make it right last night but he wouldn't let me near him with out kicking and flailing his arms around. We slept in separate beds and rooms on opposite sides of the house. "
Namjoon hissed pitifully.
Namjoon: " I'm sorry Kim. If I knew how to help I would. Bunnies are so much more complex than your average hybrid. They are so fragile that they can cry if you look at them wrong. Without the proper training and raising, they become hobbit like. They get so emotionally closed off from other people, they won't trust anyone but themselves. Jungkook is a smart boy. He was definitely raised like he should have been. But he has emotional trauma. So remember that. "
The blonde sighed and ran his hands down is face. He just wanted things to be okay. Namjoon let him go home, they were done with what he needed anyway.
Once the blonde set foot in the house, he knew he messed up. Not like he hasn't known since the words spilled out of his tired mouth last night. The house was very quiet. It's never this quiet.
Taehyung: " Jungkook-ah?! " No response. Just silence.
The tall male went up to his shared bedroom and found his bunny sleeping in a tight ball under the covers. He must've been taking a nap cause he doesn't usually fall asleep this early. the blonde looked around the room and saw how much of a disaster it was.
His clothes were all over the floor, food wrappers spilling out of the trash bin, and his shoes were spread out among the room. He had some cleaning up to do.
While he was surveying the damage, the hybrid woke up and saw him standing there. Taehyung looked over at him and smiled softly.
Taehyung: " Hey baby. " He sat on the bed and the hybrid laid his head on the elders lap. Finding this incredibly adorable, the blonde cooed softly.
Jungkook: " I sorry for being mean. " He said in a sleepy voice.
Taehyung: " It's okay kook. No need to be sorry. I wasn't telling you that I don't like you, I was trying to say that when I work, I need to be one hundred percent focused. So when you are texting and calling me, it's a distraction. So maybe ease up a bit? "
The hybrid nodded and put the blonde's hand on his head.
Jungkook: " Scritches pleasey. " The blonde chuckled and bent down to kiss his hybrids temple. That's when he knew, everything was going to be okay between them.
